No injuries = a win in my book.
Good or bad, all judgment should be reserved when there is actual game planning and the games mean something. The saints are gonna be one of the most polished teams in the preseason so expect allot of over-reactions tonight.

Every year several teams win the preseason bowl by going 4-0 and then go on to lay a turd in regular season. Look at how many times we have looked awesome in preseason over the past 9 years and then ended up drafting in the top 10 the following season.
Alex will either weed himself out or figure it out and be good enough to start on a Harbaugh coached team.

I just expect our guys to play hard, execute and compete. Dont really care about the score line or results in the preseason. Just fine tune your craft boys.

LOL....ooops, looks like the OP knew how to keep it real. I would agree, win or lose is not relevent, how the team performs is what determines if we won or lost.

I really wouldn't pay too much attention to the first three weeks actually. I foresee all the preseason games being used this year due to the lack of practices compared to a normal year. If you think about the organization, there are a number of uphill battles that are only compounded due to the shortened offseason. As if a new coach and new system weren't enough to deal with in a normal year, Harbaugh now had two weeks, literally, to install an entirely new system before the first preseason game...guys, this is not an easy endeavor so don't kid yourself. I have no doubt that the pass protection schemes were no where close to being ready to deal with the blitz happy Saints. Those types of mental things really are not a big deal, and in three weeks that game would look totally different.
The real problem is the one on on battles that both Staley and A. Davis lost...those are very troubling and have no excuse. But aside from those two plays, we are way too early to start freaking out.

While I am not too upset about the general poor play, it bothers me that the line performed...not badly, but pathetically at times. There were a couple of plays where Rachal hit no one and watched as a DLman ran past him. There was no one else rushing up the middle, so it wasn't that he was involved elsewhere. It was as if he had made up his mind to watch the MLB just in case he blitzed and did not see the big picture...keep QB alive!
Guess it's important to remember back to how slow a team is while they are learning a new offense and be patient. Last night the 9ers were doing walk throughs while the Saints were using advanced blitzing.

Watching an o-line man block his own player was the worst moment of the night. Needs to be corrected asap.
