In order to gain the momentum we need going into Detroit we need to give the Bucs a good ol' fashioned payback STOMPING.
31-17 Niners
Buccs are gonna play better than they did last night.

Seeing Aldon get to the QB is a big difference from last year.

He'll need to wrap up good against a big dude like Freeman but he's not slippery elusive like Michael Vick is.

Rumor has it that Freeman is going to load up on the jerry curl juice, he's gonna be as slippery as they come!

We'll have Justin throw pine tar on him then.

I doubt that. They were playing the hapless Colts at home and won by a TD.
This Sunday they'll be playing at the 'Stick on a short week against a MUCH better team AND coach.

Speaking of Detroit, a fast start would be nice (like going up 14-0) and get them out of their running game like the Tampa/Detroit game.

We've proven we can strike fast with 2 series for TDs back to back.

Can we do it to start the game though.

Freeman is a much lesser version of Vick, not scared of him passing or running. As for Blount, we'll just punch him in the mouth like he's famous for, our Run D will shut them down. In fact, I see us favored in this game and we have a better chance beating the Bucs than the Lions. I see us going 1-1 in the next two games, Lions may be too tough to beat because we're on the road for that one.

I'll be at the Lions game cheering my frickin drunken ass off. That's for sure. Going with 4 of my friends... all Lions fans... funny how cocky they all get after years of disappointment lol.

As for the Bucs game, I'm not too worried, but they will pose a challenge. If our offense can get rolling early, I think we win this. Our D should be pretty stout against their young offense.

Haha...reminds me of Cardinals fans, decades of mediocrity until they finally start winning, then pretend like they've been a powerhouse team all along.
Does Tampa have any speed at RB? I mean enough that can bounce it out and really hurt us? If not, we should just crash the DL to the middle and allow the speed of our LB's to run down any bounces to the outside. Sure Willis can bring down big 27 but don't know if Bowman can do it.

I'm plenty confident we'll stuff their run game too. They'll have to pass to beat us. And I'm more confident in beating the Bucs than the Lions.

BUT

The Lions have had to come from behind twice after being down by more than 20 points so they can be scored against. Again it'll be the defense that keeps us in the game but our running game that wins it. It's very possible we could go into the buy week with a 5-1 record.

Agreed, 5-1 is more than most of us could've asked for. Winnable game, but unsure which Alex Smith will show up in Detroit as well as which O-Line shows up, too.
They might not be as skilled as Philly but they are 3x's as physical

There's only been one Alex Smith all year and that's the 8th ranked QB in the league.

Blount has Frank Gore Speed
I'll take any kind of win, but I'd love to see our boys hang an ass whupping on an above average team like the Bucs. They have a short week, a long flight and the Saints coming to visit them the following week.
We need more of this!

maybe they were holding back . just a bag game??

regardless, team needs to prepare for what the buccs are capable of, and not just that one game.

You guys keep underselling the Bucs. I live down here. I get to see all of their games, at least the ones not blacked out. That's a good football team. "Good" by today's standards.

If I had to compare Freeman as a player it would be Roethlisberger as far as arm and ability to extend the play. The Bucs are very physical on both sides of the ball. Not saying this is a loss, but that they present a different challenge from the teams the 49ers have faced thus far.
