No they're not. Through three games, only two other teams have allowed more yards on the ground than Philly. That said, their pass defense is still solid (ranked 10th in fewest yards allowed). Minus Vick (and even with him), I think they're vulnerable but we have to start playing sound football to have a chance.

If the same o-line from yesterday shows up in Philly, it'll be a long day.

Trent Cole is gonna own Joe Staley unless Staley greatly improves his technique and learns to keep his pad level down. Cole is fast and strong, and looks like the kinda guy who has routinely beaten Staley this year. Maybe time for Alex Boone to see some playing time at LT?

Now that Vick is out, I switched my Pick 'em to the Niners upsetting the Eagles. Why? I'm expecting our front 7 to put enough pressure on their back up QB and our secondary to hold them to only a couple of TDs the entire game. Wishful thinking yes, but I expect the Niners to have another game-manager type performance from AS and less runs up the middle, more sweeps and counters now that Hunter may be getting more carries with Gore hurt. And I look forward to Akers hitting all his FGs against his former team. This will be ugly (our OL will give up another 4-5 sacks), defensive and most likely low-scoring. Niners win 20-17.

BTW, I was thinking the Eagles were favored to reach the SB this year, but not anymore (Packers are favored).

Staley looks like he hasn't recovered fully from his injury, he doesn't look as strong at the point of attack as before.

Yeah, Staley used to get beat once in awhile, early in a game, then he'd come back and play well. Now he's just getting bullrushed and beaten routinely.

Trent Cole has a nonstop motor and a straight ahead bull rush, and he is going to push Staley back on every play unless Staley fixes whatever the problem is asap. Its my biggest nightmare for this game.
