That will be good for us to get some more 1 year deals and keep developing the guys we draft. We should know what we need by year 3 after Harbaugh and Ballke have 3 drafts under there belt.

On a side note, this re-signing for a one year deal makes no sense. Career-wise, he would've been better off in NE. Playoff team and their D would make him look better than he really is...strong in run support and good tackler, weak in man-to-man coverage (see Saints game, MNF). Then, he could've re-signed with them or test FA after a year for more dough.

Unless there's some truth to the injury rumors, I'm still trying to figure this one out, especially since Goldson wasn't exactly the model player with some of his quotes on Twitter about the organization.

maybe look good on ne defense a few years ago. but ne was the 30th ranked pass defense in the nfl last year. they were down right terrible and were ranked 32nd for much of the season.

it makes perfect sense to stay here and showcase your skills in a much better defense. this makes sense on both sides of the fence.

Is that a guess? Or is that official?

I dont think he bashed the Niners, He was just frustrated that he didnt get the interest that he expected, maybe damaged ego a bit

As far a the Pats go, Im also surprised he didnt take that oppurtunity (if it was offered) He may just like living in the Bay area, west coast roots, friends on the team, the Niners may have made it clear they want to work out a long term contract

Hopefully our new DB coach can help him elevate his game.

Anyone still wondering why we didn't sign him ten days ago when all the Junior GM's were in full hand-wringing mode calling Ballke a clueless idiot?
The one Goldson thread they decide to keep, spells his name wrong... lol hilarious!

We had our value on him, and he thought he was worth more. On top of that, Reggie was doing well in camp and we got Witner. This signing was a plan c or d for both the Niners and Dashon. Admittedly, he ate some humble pie once he hit the market. The Niners just waited it out until they got what they wanted.
