I thought Matt's comment on Boone was good to assess him before deciding on Sims. I think that will be a good move.
So with Gore back the issues for the offence are down to a veteran presence behind A. Smith, and a WR, and perhaps another RB that they can pick up as cutbacks occur.
With defense the CB issue remains and Franklin's decision needs to be made. So Line and Linebackers seem to be clearing especially now with Lawson gone.
To my mind things are going along well. CB is the biggest issue at the moment.

I think a veteran guard to back up/ replace Chilo might be a bigger need than another rb. I think Dixon and Hunter can handle the load if gore goes down. you nailed all the defensive needs

I think Boone will do plenty well enough for them to pass on Sims. Boone had 1st-2nd round talent, but made 7th-UDFA decisions and was in poor shape come his Senior year.
He's stayed out of trouble and gotten into excellent shape, and he's practicing and improving (we assume). I don't think it's any question of whether or not he'll make the team; they need him for depth. But I think he'll do a fine job. We don't need Sims back.

I'm excited to see what Kendall Hunter can do. I like the smaller, shiftier running backs. I expect good things from him.

Thing is, Hunter is quicker, faster, and a better blocker coming out of college than Dixon was -- and probably still is now. Dixon has the size and can pound the rock and take punishment more, but for the most part, Hunter is actually the superior back in terms of skill.

I put no stock in this report for our receivers and QB due to the fact that we have a high school team of DB's defending.

I think we should get a veteran rg to replace Chilo. Our right side of our offensive line was its biggest weak point. I dont want to make any more excuses for A Davis this season either. Get him a real Vet to play with, and hopefully he will shine this year.
I'm over Chilo.
