Does anybody else think Wragge could be a solid starter at center? During his limited time on the field, he wasn't dominant but he got the job done. I don't remember him getting destroyed or being called for penalties much. He probably won't be making any trips to the Pro Bowl but I could see him being a decent starter.
He started 4 games in 2006 and 10 games in 2008. Has there ever been a moment in those games where he was noticeably bad?

i like wragge and he plays with a mean streak. he just hasnt ever gotten a chance so its tough to say really. havent seen him play enough. the coaches must not see something in practice, idk. but i remember once we inserted wragge late in the season a few years ago our running game took off. i dont think it was a coincedence either. maybe his versatility to play across the line makes him to valuable as a backup? not sure i agree with that type of thinking but i guess its possible. I think wragge is better then rachal.

he's a good guy to provide flexibility. he's a little like snyder, in that he can play all over the place. he even pinch hit at LT last year.
if the rest of your OL is talented, he could be a solid starter.

Maybe we can't talk about Wragge as a 49er until August 4 lol

I just can't figure out why they did not sign him to a 3 or 4 year league minimum deal with incentives for starts, etc. He is a person who can back uip both guard spots and center, their is a value to that.

It looks like the fans appreciate Wragge more than our previous coaching staff did. Maybe Harbaugh will see something that Singletary & Nolan didn't.

Glad to have the versatile Wragge back on the team. I think his ceiling could see him as a decent starter. Kind of like a Shaun Hill as QB... someone you love to have backing up your #1... but a guy that you would rather have come in as relief for a few games. Probably not someone that will ever be highly regarded around the league... no pro bowls... but a guy that just goes out and does his job adequately.

Remember Alex's best game(@SEA,12/15/06 )? Wragge did pretty good filling in for Heitmann that night.
