Bye bye Heitman.
So Brian Jennings is now the last player still on the Niners that went to the post-season with them in 2002

we save $1.95M in cap space. and we save 1.87M on Nedney.

Thanks for the cap update, unfortunately it means nothing if we can't find players willing to come and play here.

Very solid but a little jab at MadDog: If Heitmann is as good as MD said, JH wouldn't have cut him.

Actually, 2011 was the last contract year for Heitmann, so it makes sense for the team to cut him since he won't be able to play this season. It cuts a cap number for a player that will not be active.

The thread I started two years ago was entitled, "Eric Heitmann is a Good Football Player" since there were a few people on the board continuously, and without merit, trashed his play (based on one play from 2007), even after being the consensus best OL on the team for years. So, I simply stated the obvious, that he was a good football player. Little did I know that some individuals would blow their gaskets over such a "ridiculous" idea. Those individuals called him, "garbage", "a joke", "a bad football player", and more stupid comments, even after fellow players, coaches, opposing players, the media, and more praised his play. In the end, after a fine season capped by Heitmann trashing Kris Jenkins, those people seemed to disappear.

When all the dust was settled, a 30+ page thread emerged from the simple concept that "Eric Heitmann is a Good Football Player". Who knew?
The gift known as Singletary keeps on giving. His Neanderthal coaching in general and the "Nutcracker" in particular.

On ESPN or NFL Network this week, a former player trashed the Nutcracker drill as completely stupid and without any merit. He was pretty blunt about the idiotic use of this drill. It sounds like Staley wasn't too thrilled with the damaging results to others.
it's going to be a whole new team out there. This feels weird.

No, we need to sign him well.

However, we do badly need to sign him

I thought Heitman was a victim of the Nutcracker drill. Is the Nutcracker what really injured his neck and ended his career?
Is there a link to the NFL network comments?

It was going to be out of football two straight years due to injuries (last season and this one with neck surgery. Good move and smart move.
