lawson, goldson, and i would say franklin are all expendable.

I would tend to agree with the exception of Goldson. With Sensabaugh resigning with Dallas and Jarrod Page going to Eagles there arent many others out there better than Goldson. At the right price Goldson is solid.

i agree that he will be better than our regular season starter but he's not worth it at a high price. reggie smith and taylor mays (with williams as added depth) doesn't sound TOO bad IMO

You think we have a better defense than last year losing TKO, Goldson and Franklin?

Maybe we overpaid for Clements, but theres no way you can say that Carlos Rogers is an upgrade for Clements, look at his stats he is a mediocre corner at best, he is an upgrade at our #2 DB slot not for our #1, but I guess thats just a position we will have to address in next years draft

Well IMO Clements is more physical(Better tackler) and has better hands, but Rogers is a better cover corner(what we need) who has bricks for hands but will be in position to defend the pass.

When was the last time we had a winning record? I'm really not sure when the nay sayers have been wrong.

I don't really care if Goldson stays or goes. He's overrated here like Lawson and Franklyn.

Goodwin, Rogers, and Floyd would be an okay offseason. Personally I'd like to be a little bit better than the best team in a crappy division but one step at a time I guess.

If Aldon Smith is the truth...then yes. TKO and Franklin were never the long term answers. We gotta let the young guys play (Bowman, Mckilop & R. Smith) so we can see what we have.

This. Navarro Bowman was a highly regarded linebacker coming into the league, so I would like to see what kind of progress he has in his sophmore season. I believe losing Franklin hurts the most but after hearing about how RJF improved last season, I think we'll be okay with him and Soap rotating in the middle.

Honestly, I just feel more confident in Fangio's defense and basically being lead by a real head coach. I have faith in Harbaugh coaching these players up and getting everybody ready for gameday.

I don't think everyone was played to their full potential last season

It's just a term of endearment and a pretty funny Zone inside joke...

I would be content with that.

The plan is to build through the draft...every year
I made a thread telling people to relax because there was still plenty of talent out there. It got locked in moments. I don't know why as it was the exact post the forum needed. What can I say, mods suck.

I'm fine with that if it's more selection's like Mike!

I'd be happy with this.

If the Niners can lock up Jonathon Goodwin (Espn's #1 rated FA center) Carlos Rodgers (one of the better CB's in FA at a reasonable price) and Goldson at a fair price it wil look liek Baalke knew what he was doing. They obviously feel better about our dline with Sopoaga at nose and McDonald at LDE. Also with Aldon SMith over Lawson.

Either way it makes sense to wait it out because FA's cant even practice until Thursday. I'd much rather go this route than just frantically throw money at mediocre FA's like most of the peoplke on this board would prefer.

Reading all the new articles that came out this evening I feel the same way. Things definitly wouldn't look so bleak.
