This years cap is officially set at 120.4M instead of previous 120M, and the minimum is 107M to be spent, cash wise, which i think is in current salaries, not including dead money.

Right now our regular 51 players committed are at 99M, then we have about $3M in dead space.

A little insight for future years, the cap is expected to be at least 120M over the next 3 yrs('11-'13). We are at $66M for 2012 right now. Not including draftees of course.

Now we will save atleast 10M on nate clements, either by cutting(which saves 14M) or restructuring his deal.

Norris, Carr, Haralson are possible cuts.

CUt all three!
Thanks for the info

plenty of space for nnamdi
I was going to try to say something in defense of Carr, since he's the buffer between Kap being thrown to the wolves, but I'm sure we could get at least as much QB for 3/4 or less of his contract.

Unleash the machete.

So, if the 49er's cut Clements they will save 14 million this year?

According to Jason LaConfora, Nhamdi is going to get approximately 16-20 million.

So, does that mean if we cut Clements and sign Nhamdi that we would be only spending 2-6 million more for him?

And, if we cut Carr, Haralson and Norris how much more would that save us?

That seems like a no brainer to me.

Thanks in advanced AB!
so is today the day we can sign or negotiate with FA?

....only if we signed Nnamdi for 1 year.

A 3 year, $48m deal could fit into our allotted space. And Paarage could make it happen. Not too many teams have the space to get him. I think we could if we weren't scared.
Need more cap space. I'd love to see the Niners bring in Cromartie AND Joseph

Yeah can negotiate and come to an "agreement" but can't officially sign until they re-certify as a union...hopefully Friday

It seems like we have in the order of $20M we HAVE to spend to get to the cap floor.

So...

How the hell are we going to spend $20M?
the espn article showed that we were like 18 million under if i remember correctly...i'll try to find it and post a link...

here it is.
