Keeps the attention level up and limits the hitting overall. Many coaches have hitting the entire practice which would seem to be more detrimental to health. Would you rather have the return of the nutcracker?

Thats not how Harbaugh does it. When one of our Wr's are going across the middle he yells " live practice" and the guy gets ruined. Probably what happened to Crabtree.

pssh...Crabtree doesn't practice.

Really? And Crabtree was hurt in a non-contact drill i believe. He re-injured the foot that bothered him his last year of college

He can't be serious. Crabtree re-injuried his foot during the lockout and Harbaugh doesn't make a non-contact play into a live play during the middle of it.

In the middle of a play or before the play? I would need to see the practice I guess to have a feel for it. Crabtree hasn't been in a live contact practice yet this year so I doubt that could be responisble for his injury...unless hearing about it caused him to hurt himself.

I was a lil worried up until I read your post. Keeping the players at attention level up and expecting the unexpected. Great way of keeping the players focused, I love it!

maybe Crabtree has a hearing problem and when Harbaugh shouts "Live practice" he hears "practice being injured."
Harbaugh is very animated on the field. He would sneak up to a player and trynto grab / knock the ball out to teach the player to always be aware at all times!
Guys, Im f**king around a bit, but in all seriousness how do you feel about it? Think it helps? Pros, Cons?
