Trent Baalke speaks about draft on KNBR

Last year, he made a bold move to move up two spots to get their OL(Davis). My focus is his willingness to make the move regardless if you agree with it. Then I expected us to trade back in the first, was now worried Baalke was gun shy after last year's criticism of that move. But, he made a bold move again. He I think is great, he doesn't try to take over the show and get his coach his player. But, savvy enough to help get all other players of need.

We addressed many weaknesses. Only beef on D in the middle is the only thing not addressed.
You gotta remember too that there are much better FA corners out there right now than pass rushing OLB's. There is still a very good chance that they will use the money they save from cutting/reducing Clements contract and picking up a top level CB when FA begins. This could also be one of the reasons Anukamura fell so far in the draft. Where are all the people that wanted us to draft Prince #7 anyways?

What they should've done was move up to take Peterson.

lol

no.

No lol.

Why??

He's a great prospect, but not worth trading up for. We needed picks to get our QB, and there's still questions about Peterson's size. You don't see too many 225 lb corners, he could end up as a safety.

Dude runs in the low 4.3's and can jump out of the gym. There is NO QUESTION about him...

Vernon Gholston

If you listen to the actually interview Baalke points out that Ware,, Merriman Woodley, all played with their hand on the ground in college or as he called it (didn't play on their feet in college). Of course you have your busts too, but the formula for success is also there.

Hm, I thought Woodley was Michigan's Middle LB? Someone, quick, correct me, then post a laughing pointing smiley.

the cardinals would have raped our ass for that pick

We wouldn't have traded with the Cards, but with the Bills or Bengals I was assuming. I think to move up from 7 to 4 it would have been our 3rd, 4th, 6th and possibly next years 3rd. Patrick Peterson is well worth it and would've made an impact sooner than Kaepernick would've.
Trent did alright in the interview. He must be sick to death and back answering the question about his previous statement on the QB and Smith: 'the current QB is not on the roster'. Draft is what it is and im sure at the time he dealt with the cards he had in front of him.

You think Patrick Peterson alone is worth trading Aldon Smith, Chris Culliver, Kendall Hunter, Ronald Johnson plus a player next year with equal or greater ability than Culliver? Call me crazy but I go with the 5 players, PP7 isn't good enough to make up for 2-3 above average starters.
