Hopefully he doesn't pull a muscle patting himself on the back.

Hopefully you don't pull one being the same as always.

Basically said that they trust Harbaugh to make Smith and or Kap ready to win NFL games, and that's why he's a good fit as head coach.
The private workout in Reno was basically a "competition" between Harbaugh and Kaepernick with Baalke pretending to be a pass rusher.
-They ranked players as he called it both vertically and horizontally: in other words as skill and potential with what kind of people and work ethic they had. He said he was impressed with how much Harbaugh was into the draft.
The team could not find anyone to trade up (or couldn't find a "suitable" trade partner) but felt that Aldon Smith was the best player for that slot.

Heard the interview this evening on my drive back from Palo Alto. Baalke is a very straight shooter when it comes to how he thinks. I admit, neither Harbaugh or Baalke seemed that excited to daft Smith. The interview kind of came off as, "we did the best we could." Bummer..
They definitly leave you feeling like they settle for Aldon Smith.

at least they seem to have a detailed system and now Jim has an understanding on the inner workings of it.

What they should've done was move up to take Peterson.
