In the 40's, 50's, and 60's he was called the Prospector and actually pulled a donkey around Kezar Stadium named Clementine! It was pretty neat, and he was meaner looking wearing two six shooters and carrying a bull whip! Don't know if any pictures of them exist, but there was old video from season highlights and lowlights many years ago!

I do not like the current one either. In fact, do not really like costume mascots that have their mouths wide open like that. Looks weird.
