I think most of us would agree that we could have been in the playoffs the past two years if we only had solid QB play (this is why we brought in Harbaugh). Considering the people we could bring in from free agency or the draft over the years, even with Mike Singletary under the helm we've done a decent job of making the best roster and putting the best players on the field. Outside of players like Chilo, Alex / Shaun / J.T.O, and dealing with getting playing time for Ahmad Brooks there aren't any really big issues. Harbaugh doesn't need to retool the entire team like Nolan had to do when he first got here. All he needs to do is fix the QB position, produce a solid offense through coaching and scheme, and we're fine.

I can't wait! I think now that (we're assuming here) proper systems will be installed, players roles will be highlighted and skill sets will be exposed for better or for worse. I think there are several players on our team who play at ½ speed, not to get hurt, have low morale (understandable) and as many of you feel, we’ve wasted some potential great talent on improper utilization of players skill sets.

Offense:
Staley may be a player exposed as not being as stout at the LT position, RG may be exposed but all in all, I think the line will get better. The weak links will be easier to "see" but overall, the line will look better across the board.
Gore has been in an ideal running game but his only big weakness is the inability to bounce outside and expose the edges so defenses have been able to key on stacking the box and playing inside the tackles.
QB, no matter who it is, will grow with proper coaching and game-planning.
WR’s, Crabtree, Morgan, etc. shine in an open passing game but it was a game that rarely called for crossing routes and post patterns…welcome back WCO!
TE’s will be used more

Defense:
Sopoaga, I feel will be used better and be asked to push up field more as opposed to just holding the POC for Lawson/Willis
Franklin will be exposed as not being the wide-body we need who can collapse the pocket and stuff the run and excel in short yardage plays
Lawson probably won’t be with us but after 6 years, we know what his skill set is
Brooks will finally be freed and allowed to become a starter on every down and will excel
Willis will become an excellent downhill pass rusher and like Brooks, will be moved around a lot to create mismatches
Haralson will actually become a better pass rusher b/c of scheme alone but will rotate with the starting OLB’s
Mays will be able to play inside the box, blitz, hit, in run support, etc.
Clements/Spencer will be allowed to play tight up at the LOS and be very physical with WR’s which will enable them to continue to have great success in the run game, run CB blitzes more frequently and take more chances (their role will be completely contingent upon the success of the pass rush which is why we go Quinn @ #7)
