kind of think they will trade for someone off the radar. Harbaugh spent his first month studying possible free agents. I also think he is smart and has maybe looked at some guys that were drafted 1 or 2 years ago and have sat and learned the pace of the NFL. Now i have no idea who but it would make sense in the end if he brings in a VET, which is option 1, then drafts a rookie which would be option 3 and then trades for a young prospect he remembers playing against while he was at Stanford for option 2. I don't know who he is familar with but i'm sure a trade can get done for a Matt Flynn or Brian Brohm or whoever he likes.

You ask who would you pick if Palmer, Bulger, McNabb, Smith and Kolb can't be had. And then include them in the poll.
Sooo Johnson, Hasselbeck or Rookie?
there was a poll earlier that said who would be your first choice and had these choices up assuming that qb is unavailable who is your 2nd choice

only QB i would considere acquiring would be Carson Palmer. But to me, Alex Smith seems to have a little momentum as far as his last 2 seasons were as Carson seems to have lost some steps over the last few years..
Kolb is to expensive and isnt worth it.
McNabb wouldnt be a bad pickup depending on how we could snag him.
Josh Johnson is raw, but wouldnt mind him being a backup.
Hasselbeck i wouldnt go after.
Newton, Gabbert wont be there at 7.. maybe snag Ponder, Mallet, Dalton Kepernick in the 2nd rd

So your first choice is Alex Smith, and your 2nd choice is anybody but Alex Smith.
Clever...

In that case Matt Hasselbeck since Seattle trades for Kolb.
We would still need a veteran backup since Hasselbeck is made of glass. A Josh Johnson, Burce Gradkowski, or Tarvaris Jackson would be a good option. Have the rookie sit at third on the depth chart holding a clipboard.

Alex Smith for me.
Choice one: A list of about 15-20 QBs who are either free agents or reasonable to trade for
Second choice: Alex Smith

For a cheap VET i like Mcnabb. Think Harbs can get some more out of him. Just need him to play smart and rely on the running game and defense. Young prospect i would like a trade for a Matt fylnn if the price isn't too steep.
If all else fails I would go find Johnny Utah...

A bunch of choices that are either well into the backside of their career or are yet to show any real promise. For me, the answer is, meh...

Amazed at the Josh Johnson love, guess the webzone loves crappy QBs.
which one on the list isn't crappy?
At least some of those names have done something in their careers.
So has Montana but I think his best days might be behind him too.
You haven't heard the news?

My first would probably be Matt H.. If he ends up staying in Seattle, I could see us making a play for Johnson. Harbaugh's familiar with him, and he's familiar with Harbaugh and the WCO. That might help us hit the ground running a little better coming out of the lockout. Downside, I don't know how much of a mentor Johnson can be for any incoming rookie QB, since he's not been in the league that long and has limited starting experience. Then again, that's what Harbaugh's for.
In all honesty, Palmer is probably equal to Hasselbeck in terms of my wish list, but I didn't include him because I believe Paul Brown to be enough of a jackass to keep Palmer in retirement.

I think we need to have a serious discussion about Alex Smith here. I mean honestly what are your guy's opinions about him?
