-Only problem I do see (that will have to be worked on) is that he'll have to improve upon 'selling' bootlegs/draws better at an NFL level (but even Matt Ryan struggled with that his rookie year), other than that Colin's pretty damn good.

I think this kid is physically/psychologically capable of starting around the mid-point of the 2011 season (if it happens).

He needs to watch Boomer Esiason of the Bengals. That guy was really good at selling the handoffs.

EDIT: I found a sample. Go to 1:40 for the Esiason fake handoff...

Hopefully he supplants Smith soon. For the Niners, that's gonna be like a Colin cleanse.

San Francisco 49ers: Jim Harbaugh has only been in the NFL for a couple months, and already has Colin Kaepernick to coach. That seems unfair. Kaepernick has the package: talent, drive, level head, plus he was ignored by the East Coast media elite, which will serve him as a long-term motivator. Thirty-one teams passed on Kaepernick, and 31 will regret doing so.

Who are you quoting?

Gregg Easterbrook, from this (lengthy) article:

This morning on The Herd, the ESPN guys were absolutely bashing this pick. They saw no way that CK succeeds.

Stupid reasons whatever they were. Whats not to like? Athletic, Put up numbers in college, strong arm, winner, has an offensive minded coaching staff, top 3 TE, good young receivers, good RB's, talented oline (not counting rachal)

It must be because he played in college and was drafted into the NFL by teams west of Philly.
