Kaepernick is very reminiscent of Randall Cunningham, tall, great athleticism, play-maker, great arm (with slightly long delivery), taken about the same place in the draft, and both from Nevada schools.

I like his mentality, so many guys think they're entitled to something because of what they did in college. #7's a good number :) Lucky #7 right?

I don't know how I feel about this. I'm not a big fan of Kaepernick. In Harbaugh I trust
It will be interesting to see how Harbaugh will use him this year. He is a dual threat so hopefully we see him in 3rd down packages, and wild cats where I think he can be very useful.

I really hope Harbaugh/Roman don't waste a second of time on the stupid wild cat.

Wilcat? Forget that! Use him as a 2nd TE or in the red zone! Have him fight for a jumpball for a TD! Those smurf-like DBs will not be able to outjump him!

Lmao CK?
According to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora, the 49ers explored trading up for Colin Kaepernick late in the first round before ultimately settling on dealing up for him at No. 36 overall.
Citing multiple league sources, La Canfora says the 49ers were "persistent" in trying to acquire Kaepernick. Both San Francisco and Oakland had discussions with New England for the No. 33 pick, before the Pats called it off and settled on Ras-I Dowling. Ultimately, the 49ers wound up using the equivalent -- per the NFL Draft Value Chart -- of a first-rounder on Kaepernick anyhow (1,103.5 points, equal to a top-15 overall selection).

I didn't realize our trade costed us that much. It didn't seem like a lot originally.

Per Draft Value Chart, the picks #49ers used to get Kaepernick equaled a top 13-14 selection. Maybe that eliminates him from 2nd-rd QB hex.

Very nice that we were aggressive in trading for him.. should also end the talk that maybe we were considering Dalton first as well.

Hold on... we traded our 2nd, 4th, and 5th, correct?

so picks 45, 108, and 141? Value = 450+78+35.5 = 563.5 = Value of the 34th overall pick. Seems like an even trade to me.

And if we had Kaepernick as a 1st round pick, then that seems pretty good to be as far as how much we gave up for what value we assigned the player.
