Manusky/the defense was not the problem. The problem was our turnover prone offense (QB) and s**tty offensive gameplans. This constantly put our D in a hole, especially during the 0-5 debacle out the gate.

It's not surprising that Manusky was highly sought early in the offseason and is now taking over the #1 defense in the NFL.

Highly sought after? He had an interview with the Panthers for HC and then went to the Chargers because he is familiar with them, not because he is great.

He is a wuss of a coordinator, routinely playing our Corners 10+ yards off the LOS and sending our backers' into deep zones while rushing 3.

Yeah the turnovers didnt help but he got schooled many a time last year by smarter offensive coordinators. He's a bum, and that San Diego defense will be out of the top 10 next year.

I'd suggest learning how real coordinators gameplan and attack offenses, such as the Jets, Steelers, and Ravens. Night and Day with what Manusky does.

I'd suggest you go back and read the news around the time Manusky was told he wouldn't be retained. He was, like I said, highly sought after. I also love how you discount the affect those TOs had. And good luck expecting to have a defense like that of the Jets, Ravens, or Steelers. You won't see that unless you are...the Jets, Ravens or Steelers.

I did read the news. He got a token HC interview with the anthers, who interviewed a lot of people, and went back to San Diego because he's familiar with Norv and the defense when he was linebackers coach. I guess we disagree on what "highly sought after" is.

As for the Jets, Ravens, and Steelers, I am talking about schematics. They all know how to devise blitz packages. Manusky's blitz packages are garbage and he is vanilla with how he has his corners play. A lot of the reasons for Clements having such a poor year was Manusky playing him in deep zones, which is the opposite of his strengths.

It seems like we don't agree on this issue, but I'd be willing to bet that if the Lockout is resolved in time to get a good number of workouts in, and Fangio has time to install the defense, he's going to vastly improve it with schematics alone.
