the reason nate gets burnt is because he is very aggressive. he has a lost a step and you cant be aggressive when you lost a step because you cant catch up. that is what happened to nate. he still is awesome in the run and one of the best at stripping the ball. not to mention he is a bump and run guy but always has to play 5-10 yards back because of defensive scheme

I wish Clements would let the 49ers switch him to safety and rework a deal that could keep him here in that capacity, he does have great tackling skills, but has average to good coverage skills-coverage skills ideal for a safety as they are typically the backup coverage person to the corner. And then pickup a cb through FA, I think if we can improve our secondary to a point where QBs need to look twice to throw downfield, we can unleash willis and the incoming pass rushing specialist (fa or draft) or just willis if we don't pickup one and this defense could be that much more improved.

I agree with you. Clements needs to press the quicker guys up front, They say that Peterson may be similar, if the niners make these guys play soft then the opposition has a better chance to succeed. Clements may actually succeed better in say a jets Defense.

Shawn has several problems, he has injury problems at times and that has affected his play, sometimes he is better than Clements, others worse.

Hmm I dunno. I don't see Shawntae getting burned as much as Nate. In fact, I think Spencer is pretty underrated.
