Let's just look at it this way! If Aaron would have been drafted #1 by the 49ers and the Fudge Packers drafter Alex #21, Aaron would have been thrown into the fire by a crappy organization, the worst talented team in the nfl, & the worst coaching and they would have CRUSHED him, just like they did Alex! Then, we would be all b***hing about why didn't we draft Alex! IT IS ALL ABOUT THE COACHING!!!

I think that's a little obvious. Anyone who disagrees is blinded by their 'displeasure' with Alex Smith. Aaron might have done better here in SF than Alex did, but no way in Hell would he have brought us our 6th ring.

There's just been a lot of people thinking that we would be the ones in the super bowl now if we drafted Rodgers instead of Smith.

yeah and I bet if Ryan Leaf went #1 and Peyton Manning went #2 the roles would've been reversed on that too..

or maybe Aaron Rodgers is just better and would've been better in either situation.

No Ryan Leaf is a idiot! 6 Years and 6 different Oc, 2 different Head coach's. Now possible 7 Oc, 3 head coaching changes, if resigned. Even Rodgers hugh ego would have been destroyed. Now rodgers may not have fumbled as much, bigger hands.

We destroyed his confidence, Smith is a smart kid, but we all agree he had to learn the whole playbook first, but we never keep a oc long enough, or stayed with one system.

we took 6 years to get a functional oline, took 5 just to find a wr in crabtree, got lucky with gore. took Vd 4 years to put the team first, and grow into his potential. During that time 2 defensive coachs who knew nothing about grooming a qb, and putting the pieces around him. After all the injuries, and all the f**k up's along the way. I'm shock he turned out a solid season... Maybe not elite, but giving everything he's elite in the amount of crap he's dealt with, and never had a ryan leaf moment...
