2 games, 2 years, 2 playoff births, both blown by a CB.....

2009 season - In October against the Falcons Dre Bly intercepts a pass that would have likely been the game winner and could have drastically changed our season but instead added to the lost momentum from the Vikings loss. We were down 3 scored at the beginning of the 3rd but this could have changed the outcome of the game since we were typically better in the 2nd half of games this year.

2010 season - Again in October against the Falcons we get an interception, this time its Nate Clements and we have a 1 point lead with 1:25 left. Again, Roddy White comes behind and strips the ball. Falcons score and we know how the rest of the season turned out.....

I remember the one where Cedric Wilson didn't go down with seconds left. Time ran out without the chance to kick an easy field goal for the win. Doh!

I cant really blame it all on Nate, nor is it fair, especially with dumbass Singletary runing the show, and running a dont lose D.

I hated the fact we had our CBs play 10 yards off. It isnt the CBs it was the system, Manusky was terrible. As was Sing.

Weren't we already down big to the falcons when dre did that?

Yes, yes we were. That game was no chance after Roddy broke off that 90 yard TD when Nate took a chance at a pick instead of a sure tackle.

I have no idea why Dre was showing off after getting an interception when were down by at least 3 scores... lol

Dre Bly intercepted that pass in the 1st drive of the 3rd QTR when we were losing 35-10 already He wouldn't have out ran Roddy White for a TD and our offense looked like pure trash the whole game. We had no chance in that game.

If anything, the momentum changed when Morgan got hawked down at the 2 and Glen Coffee thought he scored and went to the sidelines and we had to burn our last time out instead of taking a delay of game.

Then trailing 14-10, on 3rd and short we allowed a 90 yard TD pass to make it 21-10. Then on the kickoff, Walker was obviously down with the ground causing the fumble but we had no time outs left to challenge it and falcons took over for yet another score to make it 28-10 and then they scored one more time to make it 35-10 before half.

Dre Bly's play was a bonehead play but it would not have done anything for us because he wouldn't of scored a TD and our offense was HORRIBLE. We were already down 4 scores

Honestly, that game would have been a shootout if that was the case because it was just one of those days where we had absolutely no answer for the Falcons offensive attack. They just came of their bye week I believe and they really game planned extremely well for us.

Even with a good QB in that particular game, he would have had to have his best game of his career to be able to compete with what the Falcons were doing on offense. Our defense just didn't show up and it didn't help that our offense had no answer as well.

But yes, a "good" QB would have saved us in many other situations and we would have been in the playoffs these past two seasons but that's neither here nor there. Everything works out for a reason and hopefully Harbaugh will be our savior to bring us back to glory

Dre Bly also dropped a pick 6 from farve that would have sealed the win vs the vikings!!!!! And that game sucked the life out of our season.

I didn't blame Nate either. At the very least, his INT brought the Falcons to their 10-yard line with a minute to play. That's PATHETIC when they're able to drive 60 yards or so in under a minute to score the game-winning field goal.

Yup, we need to adress CB thru Free Agency or the Draft for sure. I believe Phillip Adams will be a quality player eventually, and Clements needs to restructure to under 4 mil or be gone. I would also like to acquire a quality cover corner that will be able to start and cover a guy 1 on 1 frequently without getting burned so we could send additional blitzers. If we can, Id like a young player like Grimes that wont command as huge a contract as Asomugha. Maybe even a Cromartie.

Champ Bailey at FS would allow us to have a safety cover someone 1 on 1 for the all our all out man coverage 6 man blitz.

Either way our DBs need help!
