Great, coach up Crabtree, Morgan, Ziggy, then draft Salas!

Aother Hawaii 49er fan joins the webzone!

Aloha Cuz! We get more Hawaiians here den in Vegas! lol.

Anywayz, Morton seems to be a good hire. Im glad that free loafer Sullivan is gone. He was living on his belief that he molded Boldin and Fitzgerald intothe players they are today. If Morton can get Crabtree to live up to his potential and help Morgan,Ziggy and Ginn produce more it will be a successful hire.

Maybe if we start winning again like the old days, the Niner games will be on TV every Sunday again. Sullivan never did one good thing for the Niner Receivers. Been wanting a new WC coach for over 4 years now. Never heard of John Morton, but I like the Head Coaches he's worked with. Plus, we have all young receivers, so younger blood at WR Coach is a good call. This is the best I've felt about the Niners since Mooch was here. I'm sure Bill Walsh is smiling too..........
Anyone wanting Jerry Rice should realized Jerry has no coaching experience what so ever. Sure he might have mentored or gave advice to young WRs during his playing days but that's different then being in charge of an entire team's group of WR's. He would probably have to start off as an assistant to the WR coach. Maybe sit in on some practices before that even. Just because your a great player doesn't mean you will be a great coach. We learned that...

I am not saying Rice won't be a coach some day but can someone tell me where he has openly said I want to coach WRs in the NFL? Same thing that goes for those of you that want Steve Young as OC. Steve Young is my favorite player of all time along with Rice but I think that's jumping the gun a bit. Normally you work your way up... get use to coaching practice and then games as well.

He has no coaching experience but what he has is being the GOAT! Jerry Rice's passion for the game, drive and determination would not allow him to fail being a coach. Not to mention he is already mentoring college players just about every year. I have no doubt in my mind that Jerry Rice would be a great WR's coach. Jerry Rice is in a league of his own so to compare him to Singletary or Steve Young is irrelevant, just my opinion though. There will never be another Jerry Rice but Steve Youngs and Dingleberry's pop up all of the time.

I would never bet against Jerry and I didn't mean for it to sound as if I was knocking him as a potential coach but the first step is did he openly say he wants to coach? Maybe the front office figures why bother him if he hasn't shown any interest in coaching. You don't think he should start out as an assistant? Coaching on game day is probably a lot different than training in practice.

You glamorize coaching ability with personal playing ability a bit much. Being able to relate, gain and keep attention, and actually teach is not a simple thing. College players would immediately be in awe of him, you think a guy like Moss would give a s**t?

Being the best doesn't mean you can coach. There's a reason most great coaches are unathletic (fat).

Do you think we could get WR Patrick Turner from the NY Jets? He could be a good redzone target.
