I would kill for a cocky b*****d who could take the 49ers to back to back conference championship games in his first two years! I dont mind a s**t talker as long as he can back it up.

I actually like Rex Ryan I like people who are not afraid to say what they feel. Its refreshing to not hear the same old bs stuff from coaches.

What is this based on? Does anyone know how Harbaugh handled media access while being at Stanford? Was he being secretive there as well, or is this just idle speculation based on how they stayed mum on coaching hires until now?

If this in only speculation based on the silent hiring, I think it is dumb speculation. Especially with no CBA, I think hiring coaches and signing deals is doubly difficult, so better stay mum until they actually signed before they pull a McDaniels or something. Also, time for scouting players, preparing for the draft, preparing playbooks etc. is even more time-constrained now if a lockout looms on the horizon, meaning press releases do not exactly have high priority right now.

And what exactly would "like the Patriots" mean? Doing shenanigans with the injury report? Being kinda rude in press conferences and giving vague answers? I think those are more of a Belichick character trait and I Harbaugh did not give out such a vibe to me in his first media dealings. Besides that, the Patriots actually give the usual media access like all other NFL teams as far as I know.

I could care less about media access. There was little to none when we were winning super bowls. You know who like to b***h about media access? The media.

Judging by his post-interview after the Orange Bowl, I think he will answer questions that are pertinent to the games played. I don't think he was rude, but he was definitely selective with his answers.

i dont give a s**t if the matts report everytime a player takes a dump as long as the niners win. close off the media, i dont care. they seem to stir up controversy too much anyway. major news will get out there anyway, no need for all the little non important stuff.
