Once Belichick retires that entire organization is in big trouble. He runs everything kind of like Walsh did, but unlike Walsh he has not been able to impart his wisdom to his assistance. There is a reason most of Walsh's assistance went on to great success and Belichick assistance crash and burn. Might the better organization be Pittsburgh? They lost a coach in Cowher i figured would really hurt that team. Yet they have almost gotten better since he left. They have that team always set up for success no matter the coach and it might be a reason Cowher isn't ready to come back and coach yet.

I agree the Steelers are the model to follow. They are consistent winners, they have a system and stick to it. Hopefully we can get back to what we were, a good offensive team with good QB play.

The 49ers of the 80s and 90s are the model to follow.

We have tried to be the 00' Ravens and 85' Bears and that has gone nowhere fast!

The question is if the Pats are successful because they don't grant media access.

I don't think that's even remotely the case.

Quite frankly, I prefer a leadership structure that values accountability, but it's not going to change my fandom.
I don't care if he makes the coaches were masks like Michael Jackson's kids as long as he wins games.

There seems to be no shortage of media coverage on the Patriots.

We will get news like we always do. It might be a little different, but we'll get it.

Anyway, we all know the media have spies.
Is this just for media access or fan access (like open training camps, etc.)?

I'm all for secrets. The niners have been leaking info to the media for the last two years. It has become a circus. Our fans have taken every bit of info and turned our team into a joke. So yes, please keep everything in house.

And you're wrong about the ninerws always being media friendly. Bill Walsh has said that the media wants the team to lose, and that they're bascally th enemy. When the team loses, it calls for better stories.

I agree Jose. Sometimes silence is golden. I think as Harbaugh and the team get clickin on all cylinders , he'll open up a little more. However, given how the recent media rumors completely missed the mark, I'll just wait and see what happens.

MB might be talking out of his a$$.

No wonder the most newsworthy 49er tidbit of teh day came from Hue Jackson and not a 49er press release.

Yup they are very silent in niner land these days.

Even MM said crickets are chirping in Santa Clara.
I could careless. Yes the media will get upset, but who really cares about them. It's about wining football games..
