Up here in Canada our offensive scheme in the pro game is simple for the most part: Spread sets with 3-6 recievers with the option sprinkled in here and there depending on the team.

So forgive me for not knowing what this means when referring to our future offense in 2011:

"What you will see is a Pittsburgh Steelers-type 'jumbo' offense that relies on the strength of its run game."

I understand the basics and I'm not concerned about the run game but what kind of passing game can we expect out of a similar base? Are we talking a tradition west coast?

Do I need to check out Pittsburghs playbook in Madden?

You'll probably see a lot of "A" gap runs (between the center and the guards) with some trapping and pulling from the guards (for better blocking angles).
I don't know what your post is about but that is one of the coolest TD celebrations I have ever seen. Beat that dumbass 85. Nah, that would be a major fine and penalty.

they still call that football up there?
Jumbo offense is primarilly run heavy/short pass sets with maximum protection for the QB.

Someone who actually read the post and took time to answer it...THANK YOU

The Steelers are pretty good when it comes to utilizing the WCO while still remaining dangerous downfield. Hopefully we can do the same

FYI, Pittsburg don't run the WCO but plays certain variations of it when short timing passes are needed. Their offense IS primarily in Jumbo formations, power running being the base form. What's good about them is that their coordinator knows how to mix it up, going from short to long passes in the same formation when dictated.

They also have been running, more or so, the same type of offense for a long time now (since Cohwer) and have the personnel to make it work.

It's no longer their staple though. Mainly becuase they don't really have the personnel to make it work. O-line is still suspect and Mendhall is blah.

But you are right, when they are in it they do know how to mix it up.

This was one of those year where their O-Line was suspect, a "fluke" year of sort considering that has always been their staple.
