Roger Craig is really borderline. like probably not a HOF, but good enough to get on the initial ballot.
and whoever said Craig should go in before Marshall Faulk

By that logic Tom Rathman and John Talyor should be in too.

Look Roger is not a Hall of Famer. He will be remembered certainly, but should he get a bust in Canton? I don't think so. I'm a tough sell because the Hall of Fame should be elite company. Talking about guys who are in now that you don't think are deserving or careers match Rogers's is not an argument. Telling me about the stats of guys from yesteryear is only part of what should be considered. Roger did things no one ever did before but I never saw him as GREAT back like Sanders or E Smith, or Eric Dickerson.
Hall of Famers should be people that opponents and opponents fans feared, respected and most of all wanted on their team. They should people that writers reminisce about years later. Roger is not that guy but I loved having him when he was in SF. West Coast Offense at it's best.

Craig should be in the HOF...he was the prototype WCO RB...outstanding runner, even better receiver, picked up the blitz very well. He was the first to get 1000 yds rushing and receiving. Just ask Montana or Young...they'll tell you, he was the best.

Timing is definitely part of HOF selections...Craig's deserving...hopefully, the voters will recognize that and honor him appropriately soon.

Like I said I thought it was the HALL OF FAME? you dOnt think the first person to do 1000/1000 deserves to be in there on that fact alone? You guys are trippin. And for the record, yeah I can say Faulk wouldn't do anything in the 80's. He woulda got rock bottomed like sapp did him at least 3 times a game.

i'll try this again since I think my last attempt got lost somewhere.
Reggie Bush (widely considered a bust) career averages...
60 games
34.8 yards a game rushing. 17 td's
35.7 yards a game receiving. 12 td's
For a total of 70.5 yards from scrimmage a game. and .48 Td's per game
Roger Craig
165 games
49.6 yards a game rushing 56 td's
29.7 yards a game receiving 17 td's
for a total of 79.3 yards from scrimmage a game. and a .44 td's per game average.
So Reggie Bush is considered a bust and Roger Carig is HOF material? Let's face it, Craig only had 3 HOF caliber seasons.
Not enough to get in, in my book!

Look kid, you were still peeing in your pants when Roger Craig was playing at his prime. You can not appreciate what Craig did. All you have is statistics and maybe you have seen a few You Tube highlights. I have watched Craig play his entire 49ers career. Roger Craig IS a hall of fame type running back.
What I have not read anyone state is this:
Roger Craig played 8 times a year on a crappy, soggy field at Candlestick. This is NOT a recipe for a successful running back.
Marshall Faulk played 8 times a year on carpet!
No contest! I would take Roger Craig over Marshall Faulk any day of the week!
The only reason Faulk will get in before Craig is because he is on NFLN. Craig is not in the media limelight, thus he doesn't get the votes.
Also, did you know that Roger Craig is running Marathons? He is still a better athlete than Faulk; even today!

The HOF is based on a careers worth of accomplishments not one year that's what pro bowls are for
Yds From Scrimmage
career 13,100 all time rank 35
touchdowns
career 73 all time rank 71
Ricky Watters has better numbers

Oh i'm sorry! I thought you got into the Hall Of Fame because of the numbers you put up in your career. Did not know Field conditions was part of the criteria! Please excuse my previous post.
