So I pulled this off of 2010's NFL Calendar and just changed some dates:

* February 23–March 1—NFL Scouting Combine: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Ind.
* February 2?—Deadline for Clubs to designate Franchise and Transition players.
* March ?—Veteran Free Agency signing period begins. Trading period begins.
* March 2?–2?—NFL Annual Meeting: Dana Point, Calif. Usually accompanied by announcement of scheduling and opponents for first game and opening-weekend night games.
* Early April: Teams begin voluntary workouts.
* April 2?: 2011 schedule announced.
* April 28–30 – NFL Draft: New York City.
* May 2?–2?—NFL Spring Meeting: Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
* June 2? – June 3?—NFL Rookie Symposium, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
* Mid-July (varies by team)-- Training camps open.
* August 7 – Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Canton, Ohio, including Hall of Fame Game.
* August 12–16—First full Preseason weekend.

With a new Head Coach and Front office, what does our timetable look like now?

I believe Coach Harbaugh () said he was going to spend this first week or two looking at his current staff and players. Meanwhile, GM Baalke and Jed are going to be looking for that Senior Executive.

I guess this first month of January is going to just be prep work for the offseason and the scouting continues for the Draft.

I have no idea how the CBA is going to effect the offseason though.

In brief, Harbaugh and the FO can do whatever they see fit, provided players aren't involved. That means no suplemental OTAs for a new head coach, no OTAs, and potentially no training camp...or season for that matter.

With the players out of the picture until the CBA is settled, once the front office is established, Harbaugh will be stuck (you're going to hate me for this) watching the film. There is a chance, a small chance, that Harbaugh might be able to convince certain key players to cross the picket line (as happened in '87) but that's an unlikely event until the season starts--I think that's when the Cowboys crossed, right?

Edit: There is another scenario that could see Harbaugh working with 49ers players: scab football. If you haven't had the pleasure yet, it's awesome. But, once every two decades awesome, thank you very much. If we play scab football, Harbaugh may be a massive advantage. Just ask the Redskins about what quality scab ball can do for your club.

That's basically how I understand the current situation. I'm sure others will know more and be able to flesh things out a bit.

If there is a lockout its really gonna hurt the new coaches the most. It will especially hurt us because we have no vet qb.

Imho I think they will get this figured out by april or may.
If there is a lockout it is going to hurt the League in general, not just the Coaches! Remember when Baseball struck, it took years to recover, the NFL could have the same problem!

I sure hope you're right, because the first part of your post is bang on accurate.
I can't see the NFL not going on.

If anything, they have to do it for the money. The revenue. The exposure. The fans!

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but something will get done. It's America's game and those players don't want to sit out for an entire season!!

There is just too much money at stake and the owners hold all the cards. The players will cave in because they have the most lose.
I think this huge deal with espn is going to help out with the cba. $2 billion a year for a decade is a lot of cheddar.
come on Cromartie, you can juke that kicker,
So if a new CBA isn't agreed upon, how does that effect Free Agency and the draft as March-May rolls around?

I imagine Free Agency just won't happen?

Meanwhile, the Draft will still occur (because all it is is teams acquiring the rights to a player?), but any player that is with the Players Union won't sign a contract after the draft?
Lets hope they don't lock out and keep playing. I don't want to see a season like that.
