I'm not sure I understand what our vision looks like. Like a successful business, successful teams have to have a plan or a model that they want to build their team around. As for me, I would look at successful organizations and build in one of their images. That's how many of the top teams today became who they are today. Many of them were not particularly tough when the 9ers were in their heyday. Many of them looked at the 9ers and other successful organizations and brought in personnel from their, organized their management and coaching philosophy to mimic theirs, etc. Lately the team we seem to be most connected to is the Ravens. Are we following the Raven’s model? I hope not. I know they have been impressive at times but, I would prefer for us to follow... 1) Our old model- Bring the family back to the fold. Bring back Camelot! 2) New England, Green Bay, Pittsburg, Indianapolis -These teams, although frustrating to compete against, have created solid programs with solid plans and have had continual success for extended periods of time. I like that. But it is also more than just O and D strategy. It's also managment, scouting players (ie draft/ Free Agency), marketing and so much more.
