yeah.. getting harder to defend him, this coach and GM search has really been a debacle. When 1 of your top 2 candidates (you claim) in Lombardi leaves the interview saying "I'm not a serious candidate" after the first interview, doesn't look good. When you put all your eggs in one basket, and telegraph it from day one, and your "bartering chip" backup plan is McDaniels who says he doesn't want your job, doesn't look good. He should not have said that money was not object if it is in fact an issue. It's okay if it is an issue, but saying it's not and then getting out bid within an hour makes you look really stupid.

He should have had a backup plan. It became pretty obvious that they didn't have one when the first name they threw out there said right away he's not interested.

Yes he should have said, "We have several candidates we are looking at one being Harbaugh. Then iterated his lack of NFL experience and said, "He is risky but I do like his style. There are many good coaches that will move us to the next step".

Behind the scenes he could have acted more interested when Harbaugh came to town. Told him, "Guess what I think you are a great candidate and if you sign today I am willing to give you Pete Carroll money but you have to sign now, one day offer!"

People talk about ownership and getting an owner who wants to win and spend like this Ross a$$hole. Well look at the Saints, they were the aint's for a long time under Benson before they got Peyton. Then there is Snyder for all the money he spends, the redskins are still a joke. Then you have the Raiders Al Davis. I could go on, but the point is half the owners are a joke and even the successful ones at one time were a joke at some point. Like Isray who owned the Colts. When they lose Manning, they will once again become a joke.

Its a matter of luck of getting the right man for the team, both coach and players. York is Young he will make mistakes and I agree that there things he shouldn't have said, and just be silent and just carry a big stick. However, the guy has been in it for less than half a decade. Eddie D's big mistake was Joe Thomas, but that only lasted 2 years. None of his mistakes had to do with being unwilling to spend money. There is a salary cap now, but it doesn't govern front office help and player perks. The Yorks are not interested in spending much money on any of those things. Eddie D treated the players and their families like his family, the Yorks treat them like day laborers.
Team parties and outings all vanished under the Yorks. Even under the cap years that Eddie led the team players would come here for less money because of the commitment to winning and perks, now they do the opposite.

York et all are tards when it comes to FB and life in general......he chose Mr B and that's all you need to know about the GM
Just hope he doesn't screw up the QB thing....that's the only thing we can hope for.
