Not many safeties are faster than Taylor Mays, but Goldson is slow for a FS and Reggie Smith is average in the speed department. Mays doesn't even start, so his speed is negated by his presence on the sidelines.

Justin Smith and Isaac Sopoaga are not fast by any means, and Franklin moves like a sloth. I don't think anyone was referring to the D-Linemen when complaining about speed, though.

Our fastest guys are a safety who doesn't play and 2 linebackers. Do you know who the fastest guys on the field SHOULD be? CBs. Which of our CBs has speed? None.

Kid don't know enough of the plays to be considered a threat in the backfield. He got burned on some plays this year playing off from where he was supposed to be. He'll get there yet.

Manusky's a good coordinator but was lacking talent and experience at a few key spots and an offense that could eat up some clock. I don't know if he's a great, but we could do a lot worse. I'd be glad to see him stay and nervous at bringing the wrong guy into replace him. Whoever the coordinator is, he is going to need a few personnel upgrades if they can become a legitimate top 5 or even top 10 defense.

It's gonna be Fangio, who is head and shoulders above Manusky. I don't dislike Manusky, but Fangio is a clear upgrade.

I say he can go or stay. I wouldn't mind either way.

His resume shows he doesn't have HC aspirations.

Manusky can stay as long as he comes up with a pass rush because our secondary is horrible. Wouldnt mind if he goes or stays but all our other coordinators need to go

Walsh was always willing to break the bank for a pass rusher but only for a very special type--Dean and Haley. Manusky does not have one. It's difficult to sceme when you know the QB will have time to throw even when you call an all out blitz. Justin is really a great lineman against the run and pretty good against the pass but he is not that special game changer as a speed rusher. I like Lawson but he is more of a cover/contain guy than a rusher.

That is why Manusky is less important than drafting or trading for a top pass rusher. Manusky would look a lot better if the niners had been able to pick up a Dean/Haley type.

Until we get a QB it does not matter.

I'm too lazy to read every thread... Anyone consider/like Tomsula?
