At this point, Singletary is doing his best to not get a legitimate job next year.

Troy Smith who is two weeks removed as a starter, when Alex is 4-1 against the Rams.

He also hasn't won a road game all year.

Alex that is.

Who would you rather start? The QB who hasn't won a single road game this season or the QB who is responsible for 100% of our road success this year.

Seems like a pretty simple equation to me.

I don't mind going back to Troy, but why switch back to Alex if you're just gonna switch back to Troy?
Troy Smith will lead us to the playoffs by beating the young Rams and then the hapless Cardinals. Seattle will lose to TB and probably to the Rams the next week as well - not that it will matter.

So - this takes us to the #4 seed where we will likely face the Saints. My take is that there are 4 teams the 49ers are capable of beating.

1. Saints - We beat them up in Week 2 and their weakness reminds me of our old weakness when we ran the WC offense. The only way they can be beat is if they are pummeled with aggressive play. Just think about Dixon running through their fast but small defense.....

2. Falcons - These guys have won so many games through last minute luck - I think they are overrated and also soft. If you double Roddy White the whole game, particularly in the 2nd half where he has gone off - and we can put some pressure on Ryan, they will make mistakes. They're just not that explosive and have been fortunate to win close games all year.

3. Bears - Cutler is capable of handing the game over at any time - we'd have to cause turnovers and also get big plays from the offense. A tough team but not impossible to beat.

4. Giants - The may miss the playoffs but if they make it, they are beatable. not overwhelming in any facet - with an average defense.

5. Packers -

6. Eagles -

Bottom line in the playoffs, the 49ers are capable of beating the Saints, Falcons, Bears, and Giants. If we face the Eagles or Packers we will be bounced.

Have you watched us play?

Since our coaching sucks, we need the players to make plays on the field. Troy Smith lets us do that and in the playoffs, it is a completely different ball game.

Troy Smith will step up and win big games - just watch -

Plus, the NFC and NFL in general has achieved an obscene level of parity. You can't count the regular season for anything in the playoffs.

So there!

The Rat thing is hilarious. Somebody will write a book and a screenplay off of this. I would certainly pay to be in on the Deep Throat conversations. Do they meet in dark parking garages, do they leave notes in hollow tree trunks in a park like actual spies? Hollow coins, switched attache cases like in spy movies?

Does Singletary rant and rave and threaten to kill the Rat if he can only find him? Maybe there is no rat and he is being made up to upset Sing for fun and entertainment.

How could it be funnier that that?

This is just one more backasswards moments that has defined this dysfunctional organization and Mike Singletary. What a true joke and laughing stock the Niners have become. I think thats why yellow makes me sad.

Well why dont we all just go run off to Namby-Pamby Land?! I bet the Niners are a better team over there
I really think this team is giving up and really I don't blame them since they got a dumb coach and owner to deal with. Troy runs around like a little girl in the back field only looking for crabtree. Alex always has them ( what the hell was he thinking) moments and when he does throw a good pass the recievers drop it. So it don't matter who starts.

For your "first post" this is a fail.

Rams game....

Receiving Leaders:
San Francisco REC YDS AVG TD LG TGTS
Walker 4 80 20.0 0 36 5
Davis 4 79 19.8 0 38 6

Troy Smith (running around like a little girl looking for crabtree only, stats)
San Francisco C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT RATING
Smith 17/28 356 12.7 1 0 116.7

I wish people wouldn't spout of at the mouth for no apparent reason other than to be a non-49er fan. If you dont like them, gtfo
