Unless you know how to check the sources. Then it's a good way to get a general idea about a topic and find links to better resources.

OK, just for giggles, if the 49ers draft at #21, they could trade their entire draft and not reach the 3,000 level. In fact, Philly wants a first for Kolb, that would require more than the 49ers could afford to pay.

The absolute worst thing that could happen to this team would be to make the playoffs and drop to #21 in the draft. With 4 CRITICAL needs that all demand high value players to fill, making the playoffs at 7-9 would almost guarantee mediocrity or worse for the next four years.

The difference in draft position is one reason I'm torn between wanting them to win the division and potentially see Jed keep Singletary and wanting the Rams to beat them to just end it all. It seems like we're in football purgatory...the possibility of winning is still there, but they're just as apt to lose to the Rams and then the best they finish is 6-10 as I predicted. As for the quality of the draft picks, that's always rather subjective...as some blossom early, some do not. I want Jed to hire a true GM...who'd then have the authority and responsibility to hire a new head coach...but I'm afraid he won't have the negative vibes to do that if they end up winning the division.

Wow.

Why don't you think so? Plays well in a pro style offense, has the arm and wheels.

The niners are a good team without a true leader behind center. Sort of like the Rams were last year. To me, I could see him easily being this upcoming year's Sam Bradford. I just think if they can get him and a proven HC then their back in the playoff picture.
