Post Game Analysis (vs. Arizona Cardinals)

I know it was against the Cardinals but it was nice to see the offense opened up without restriction. That was a breath of fresh air. Not to "walk on his grave" but it is now clear just how much Singletary restricted what the offense could do. My count was 7 pass attempts for over 20 yards, including the ones that Morgan short-armed and Crabtree gave up on. Alex was right on target with most of them.

It is interesting to see what is actually there when the lights are turned on.

And with regards to the QBs in teh draft, I remember a few years ago Culter and Flacco didnt' receive much hype but have become playoff QBs in the NFL.

Andrew Luck isnt' the only talented QB out there for the 2011 draft and if we get someone who knows how to bring along talent then we should be okay.

I was a great to watch Tomsula and the player reaction. It was obvious the players were enjoying playing for him and he was having a ball, slapping players on the butt and joking with the officials. What a pleasant change to see the coach actually having fun on the sideline instead surly attitude we have seen in the past.

I hope the new HC retains him in some capacity. He brings a little something extra to the party.

There's something to what you said. Singletary tend to get his team too intense. Think of all the 'big' games this year. They came out flat for the most part. Part of the inexperience of Singletary. Most experience coaches like Walsh, always guarded against getting his guys too intense for the game. They will end up not playing well. Walsh knows enough to relax them with something silly or clever. Remember dressing up as a bell hop on SB day...?

Another example of Sing in over his head. Had we got an experience coach this season may be very much different outcome. Makes me sad to think about.

I don't know if this has been discussed, but I was encouraged by Bowman's play today with Willis out.

That's all great. However, it's easy to coach a team when they were never behind at any point in the game.

I do agree that Tomsula should be retained. I believe he's done a tremendous job with the defensive line.

This game made it pretty apparent that the issues with the team were all Singletary related. The offense and defense came out aggressive and were actually more disciplined. Jed should have fired Singletary after his amazing 0-5 start and promoted Tomsula then. If he had done that maybe the season would have turned around. I hate you Jed!

Hard to tell after one and only one game but the team seemed to enjoy playing today.

I guess we'll never know...
