Way to bust up your receiver on a meaningless td Pete. This isn't the bcs, the score doesn't mean s**t. Wins & losses is what matters. At least he didn't use him time outs when we were in victory formation..

You would rather they just lay down and quit?

I doubt that you would ever want the 49ers to do that. You don't know what is going to happen when you call a play. Its easy to judge after the fact.

the game was out of reach already. if it were a 2 score game with a few minutes left, ya... of course you keep fighting..... but 4? c'mon man.

it's a violent sport and you should know what CAN happen. keeping the intensity up is good and all..... but as the team's leader, carroll should weigh risk vs reward in these kid of situations and make the right choice especially considering the hawks are already hurting at WR. 40-14 or 40-21... you still got your a*s kicked, your players still feel like sh*t. you don't need a morale victory at that point, you need a reset. at least let the backups have a chance to play.

The problem with that is that if they do decide to stop trying it goes against everything that Pete has been instilling in the players since he got there. To not continue to compete would undermine everything that Pete is trying to build with the team. What happened to Deion is unfortunate, but you know what the risks are when you sign up to play. I would have been more disappointed if they had simply given up.

all well and good. but there is a point when you're just being stubborn.

I can see that. But in year one of a re-build, which is what is going on wether Hawks fans want to admit it or not, you need to stick to you're guns and build you're foundation. Hawks have a long ways to go.

well you have your opinion on this, and you're entitled to it, but it's a topic not really worth debating any further (it's just gonna be circular at this point). but just saying, you saw what you risk....
