Mike Nolan was awful. Sing hasnt been great, but up until this year he was over .500 at least. Nolan was a terrible, terrible coach.

Singletary is THE WORST COACH EVER!!! At least Nolan was a good defense coach, our defense improved during his tenure and has declined since he left. I don't think Nolan was a great coach but he is better than Sing. Singletary doesn't bring anything to the table.

I have to actually agree. I think Singletary has more talent but coaches it way down. Nolan had less talent but was at least reasonable with what he had.

Tough one, but as awful as Nolan was, his teams overachieved in 2005 and 2006. We were far worse than our 4-12 and 7-9 records showed that year. In 2007, he was crippled by his poor choice of an offensive coordinator (not many options however) and mishandling of his quarterbacks (Dilfer over Shaun Hill most of the season. He could've done a lot better in 2007 and 2008, but his teams never truly underachieved the way the 2010 49ers have. Of all the bad teams of the last decade, the 2010 49ers have to be the biggest letdown by far. Off of that, I give a slight nod to Mike Nolan ::shudders::.

Mike Singletary has far more talent than Mike Nolan had. But he is failing miserably. Mike Nolan was a better coach.

They both flat out suck and were/are over their heads. NEVER should have been HC.
