Rivers is super elite. He's not only top 10. He's top 5.
1) Manning.
2) Brady.
3) Brees.
4) Rivers.
That's how high I would put him. He's absolutely outstanding. Strong arm, very accurate, clutch when you need, nerves don't get him and he's tall and big. He also is a hard worker and a team player and a good citizen. Just everything you want in a QB.
No QB on our roster is anywhere near the Rivers category.
Thank you. Apparently, some guys on here think Smith can be better than Rivers if put in the same situation.

He's nowhere close. Rivers is absolutely awesome. Trust me I live here in SD. I'm not a Chargers fan but I must admit he's an absolute stud. You can have a 3rd and 35 and Rivers may well chuck it in there. I wouldn't bet against him. With Alex 3rd and 12 and you are done. Might as well punt.

Smith must finish strong and win at least one playoff game to have any chance of having an inside edge of the starting job the next season. Regardless, I still think it's better for him to move on, winning or losing. Winning, he might be able to get good pay somewhere else. Playing lousy? Time for permanent league backup job.

LOL, Remember that Brian Billick is no longer around to provide MS a gameplan against the Cha'gers. As for AS, fools gold baby!

Rivers throws the nicest deep ball I've ever seen, it's amazing.

He's fantastic deep, short and medium. But I would say deep and medium are his real strengths. I wish we had him. Rivers + 49ers = 12 - 4.

I am through with Alex and have been an ardent supporter. It's not just this game, he just isnt consistent.
As for latest Smith VS Smith decision that coach Sing is making, it's like a guy with his foot nailed to the floor going in circles, or making the same mistake day over day, i.e. insanity.
Coach Sing and Alex, it's over. Time to move on. Coach, Corporate America needs a rah-rah coach for the Sales Team.
Alex, someone needs a backup QB.
For the rest of you we are in for another 2 to 3 year treat courtesy of the Yorkies.

Did this really need a thread?? Wowza I still cannot beluieve that 30+% of the zoners are still willing to give him a pass. The man has no pocket presence. Did you see the drive in the first quarter where he had a blitz coming and I the RB picked it up but instead of stepping up in the pocket like he should have and kept his eyes down field he rolls right and the play is dead.
He cannot identify blitzers and adjust protection schemes at the LOS which is a huge detriment to this football team. Anyway. Go Niners!!
