Jed GET A G.M!

Shop Find 49ers gear online
This is it i've had enough...
Round one. Kwaime harris in the first.
Round one. Mike Rump a dumb haha in the first.
Round one. Alex Smith 6 years is enough glad you got that deal fixed to save some cash.
Round one. Rash-shawn woods haha over Vince Wilfork TWICE!!!
Round one. Balmer. WTF?
Round one. Manny Lawson at best second rounder not a major passrusher but solid player.
Racheal OVER D JACKSON how did you not get the tape on him he's 10 mins away and JERRY RICE SAID he was going to be special. And JERRY KNOWS SPECIAL!!!!

Signing of players such as Jennings, BRANDON JONES, DAVID CARR, Trading woods for i don't even remember his name but he was a charger scrub why trade one mans trash for another mans trash.
OVER PAYING FOR NATE.
Justin smith was smart. lol
Never getting a PASSRUSHER.
Frank Gore in the 3rd just flat out lucky...

OK Jed i think your doing your best, but you need someone who can actually make a good selection. In the last 10 years we have hit on Davis, Joe's solid, Mike's a stud, and Crabtree is paid just right...

But teams make or break off the first round selection's and the last 6 years we've picked twice in the FIRST round 2 different times, yet 2 out of the 4 possible A davis may have hit but needs to be coach up he's 20 just like vd might take a few years to reach his talent.

With as many first round selections we've made it's amazing just how bad we still are!

Get a G.M. and then GET A COACH, and DRAFT THE RIGHT GUY the BEST PLAYER ON THE BOARD!

So who do we bring in as G.M. you ask? Bill Parcels seems to be the most likely guy, Holm's well we missed that boat!!! So who are other possible G.M's for the job? Let's throw out names.

York family has excellent value with no GM. GM costs money. As long as the dumbed down fan base accepts it why would they get one?

Because the same reason Robert Craft hired one when he started. So he could make more money because if we got the right guy for the job that guy could get the right coach for the job and win games making his team even more profitable, he could actually make them money by getting players that are worth the contact there about to pay out, so at least your money is going to a solid investment...

I'm sick of these cheap ass way of thinking. You've got to spend money to make money but when you spend that money make sure the investment is worth it so not only do you get return on your money, you actually get to watch your team play in a superbowl and make more money for playoffs since you now increased the amount of games you will play.

wait i think York just feel asleep will someone tell him he could make himself even richer if he just stop spend his cheap money ways on cheap coach's and he would simple try and build a winning team he would easily double his profit actually saving him money he's about to spend anyways on a new stadium by putting a winner there to sell all those nice new empty seats...

I know i just love this team and it just sucks to watch the rest of the fans out there enjoy there teams play because at least there owner cared enough to do his best.

But i mean doesn't his pocket book mean anything to him. Would you rather right a 50 million dollar check wait now 70 million every 5 years or be drafting 32 and all that superbowl money and maybe resigning guys like tom brady or payton manning for the same an actually getting back the money your putting in for a good player rather then some s**tty player.

I just hope one day jed goes dad i don't care anymore i'm going to do whats right and open my trust fund up to get this team fixed. Gosh maybe one day York will sell this team, but why because he won't get a good return for he's investment... So Dr York. Thanks your wife needs to step back in and fire sing like she did with Erickson!!!! HELL SHOULDN"T HAVE FIRED MOOCH AFTER YOU MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, and LOSS TO THE SOON TO BE SUPERBOWL CHAMPS! IDOIT didn't think that one out!

This so full of BS!!! It is and you know it!

Really, the Yorks want their investment to fail? Their fanbase to hate them? Want to bring in the wrong coach on purpose since they don't care? Don't care about winning games? You know like the Rachel Phelps character in "Major League" who wanted low attendance to move the team from Cleveland to Miami, right?

Jed is not that character in the least. He's must be embarrassed and humiliated as an NFL owner right now. His choice is the NFL coaching laughingstock. You really believe he's OK with that?

C'mon now!!

You have made your points perfectly clear with the Zone about your absolute hatred and disdain for the Yorks, but this is absurd.

Oh and he will get a GM too.

The Yorks aren't football people, they're owners by default. They don't know what the hell they're doing.

Just give the team back to Eddie and let him right this ship!

Because SanDiego49er is wishing for something that won't happen - an ownership change. It's like wishing the 49ers will change their team colors to green and brown. It's a good wish, but it's not going happen. So as a result his arguments about ownership are likened to saying "the team would be better if they just changed their uniform colors to green and brown."

The Yorks aren't cheap. If the Yorks were in this purely for the money you don't re-sign Davis, Willis, extend others. Why do it when you can replace them with cheaper draft picks. You don't talk about building a new stadium in a town that isn't large enough to give you free stuff. Compare what Jerry Jones did to the City of Arlington relative to what the 49ers are doing with Santa Clara then come and talk to me about cheap.

So general blame. No context. The beat goes on.

I thought the salary money for players came from shared revenue.

Hiring a GM, and a professional staff, that comes out of the owners' pockets.

How do you know that won't happen this offseason? Jed didn't come into power until after Singletary was hired, although if you want to criticize him, he hired Shingles.

I don't blame Jed, I want to make this very clear. I blame Dr York for his lack of football knowledge and trying to run it like a normal business. well in the nfl that's not how things go.

Jed is very very young one of the youngest guys to be in charge of a multimillion dollar business but, he has to right all the wrongs his father has done and has about as much experience doing it as his father before him. No doubt jed loves his niners and wants whats best. but he's not football guy either, he's a guy who now has the power in the front office and needs to get this team back to winning. How does jed go about doing that. well he's got a great numbers guy and a college scout leading the way, but he's got to see in himself that he may not be the best talent evaluator for the team and what his major weakness is simply that, so if your greatest weakness may be someone else greatest strength he needs to find a guy who complements him with what he doesn't have.

basically jed has to swallow any ego of himself and his father and except the faults of his father and get a guy into the front office that will help him and loves football as much but knows what he's doing when it comes to drafting and also being able to see the talent in free agency and make smart choices.

Eddie didn't win those 5 rings alone. He went out and got guys who new football and knew how to get the most of the talent they could acquire. He had a power structure. he also just so happen to find the right coach for the job that was sure a smart guy but new that he had to rely on the other people to do the things he couldn't do so he could focus on what he did best and that was to implement a game plan to coach the players and develop them and by all means win win win!

I want whats we all want a superbowl ring same as Jed York. I like jed and want him to succeed as the leader of the niners because i love my niners and i also want to see them succeed so i will support him 100% something i never could say about his father. I hope he does whats best creates a good front office get's a great head coach, runs the west coast because lets face it since we left the west coast like a used up condom we haven't had anything that resembles a offense for almost a decade. I think jed needs to get back to his uncles roots and and build a power house offense that can walk into any stadium and win!

the patriots are what we used to be.
So, let me get this straight: You weren't happy with the Kentwan Balmer, Chilo Rachal, Reggie Smith, Cody Wallace, Josh Morgan, Larry Grant draft of 2008? Super Bowl!!!!!

Brandon Flowers and DeSean Jackson would look pretty good in Niners gear, wouldn't they?

No, cause they'd be on the bench in favor of other players.

No i want winners not lossers. How do you not see the film of players such as aaron rodgers and desean jackson. and take he likes of Rach and Alex smith. im still trying to figure out what happened when i shall rodgers slid slid slid i was hoping mike nolan would just trade back up in the first and get 2 qb's. I new right then that rodgers was going to go to a great team and have time to become a great qb and then the packers grabed him i cried like a baby for his bottle because i new right then that gunslinger i shall in college with that perfect looking mechanics and those sexy legs that he only uses as a last resort, was going to learn behind another gunslinger.

How do are scouts seem to not see what i do. your going to take a qb from shotgun and make him a prostyle qb with no one in front of him to learn. i new we just set are selves back 5 years. rather then taking the guy who's been droping back reading defense has perfect mechanics and a big arm!

This is going to be like taking mallet or cam. I like cam because he's a winner, but even if we select him luck or mallet or locker were still screwed because we can't sit him on the bench and learn properly any player we take will be again forced into it and fail like alex has 1 td and 11 picks his rookie year shouldn't have been on the field i no tim rattay sucked but alex should have never seen the field for at least 2 years. I'm hoping if we can't land luck we take cam and sit him for 3 years to learn how to play the game of chess called nfl football. he's a winner has the most upside and just needs time to sit so the amazing talent he is will shine. if we keep losing with troy smith at qb that's fine at least we can acquire more talent for the next few seasons until cam or luck is ready...
