Lose out. 4 - 12 is the best hope now.

~ Get rid of Dingleberry - Imagine keeping him on false hope...
~ Get new coordinators.
~ Hire real GM.
~ Get high draft pick.

Face it those of you who want us to be 8 - 8. Our best hope now is 4 - 12. This season is over. Do you want the same nightmare next year on false hope?

At 4-12 we do have a shot at a real QB in Luck, and freak WR in AJ Green, or a shutdown CB in Patrick Peterson.

Hate losing but i guess it would help in this instant.

We aren't going anywhere with this team or coaching staff anyway. it's rebuild mode.
Even if we make the playoffs Singletary and Alex Smith are gone they can't do anything to save their jobs.

sadly, this is what I wish as well. The upcoming games are meaningless, playoffs or not. We gotta look at the big picture, the future.

Think about the repercussions! First of all, if we somehow make the playoffs, we will be destroyed by whoever we play. This team has proven that they cannot win a game against a team with a winning record.

But most importantly, if we make the playoffs, this may increase the chances of keeping Mike Singletary and Alex Smith. If this happens, it will set our franchise back a couple more years (just like keeping Alex this offseason has done). We all want to see our 49ers become competitive and eventually bring back the tradition of winning, but we will continue to suffer if we make the playoffs this year.

What would you guys rather have? A team that makes the playoffs this year and continues to be very mediocre throughout the next couple of years because we keep our head coach and quarterback, or a team that misses the playoffs this year but goes out and gets a new head coach and quarterback, and brings back a competitive team for the next 10 years!? Think about it.

P.S. Arn't you glad that Willis and Davis signed their new contracts BEFORE the season started?

If they keep Sing after making the playoffs at 8-8, they were going to keep him anyways. That would only make it easier to justify the decision but not change the decision.

I agree and if we win too many they might keep Dingleberry. New found hope and change after an 0 - 5 start...
I know I may be alone in this one but if we can make the playoffs we have to try and make them its only one game after that if we lose then the season is over and we can explore or put whom ever you guys want at qb or cb or any position, but you can not pass the opportunity to go to the playoffs just because you don't deserve it...

singletary is definitely gone, there is no chance that with the talent this team has and the way we have underachieve this year that he stays...

I will try to win for the players that are on that locker room, they need to learn to fight, they need to find themselves in meaningful games and achieve goals and even if we don't like their mediocrity they are in a positions to still play in meaningful games in December..

Winning games will only help the talent we already have on our team and prepare them for next years run...

We need to win every game. Who cares if it MIGHT mean the coach MIGHT come back? This is the same ownership that fired Mooch after a playoff WIN and a loss to the eventual SB winner. If you don't think they'll fire Sing just because we make the playoffs by default of wining the NFC West, you're an idiot. If they keep him at 8-8 and a playoff appearance they were going to keep him at 8-8 with no playoff appearance (considering the CBA issue that might not be as far-fetched as it sounds).

Oh boo hoo. That's the chance you take with a Division Playoff System.

Normally I can get with most of what Gruden says in broadcast. But when he went off on that rant about a 7-9 team possibly making the Playoffs? Hell no.

I mean how many times has an 8-8 team made the Playoffs? Twice. And the Cards went all the way to the Super Bowl and played the Steelers pretty well.

My point is Football has 2 seasons. Regular and Post. If you make the Post Season then you were supposed to be there. Not by record but by definition of the terms. If we lose we lose. But at least we have a shot. If you don't like that we're there(If there is a snowballs chance in hell with this coaching staff) then don't watch.

I really don't want to hear any whining about it if we do get it. That's not supportive. That's basically kicking dirt on the players who put their bodies through a 16 game pounding and now you're bitter about the circumstances. Go root for another team in another division if you cannot accept Playoffs.

Lots of you have stated that Sing is gone regardless as though it were fact.

Well the impending Strike may just make you look bad on a couple of fronts.

And as we saw with the Giants this season not many of you pessimists were right about anything this season other than Posey. Sabes and Boch woulda been fired 3 years ago if it were left to the masses. Thankfully they weren't. Now you turn your venom on the 9ers. Well okay it never really left the 9ers but you get what I'm on about I'm sure.

I was thinking about this fact earlier today (listening to KNBR).

Do I hate this season? Yes. But I'm not going to complain if we miraculously make the Playoffs. And admittedly I wanted Boch gone 3 years ago for being inept in the regular season. But we made the Postseason this year and he did more right than wrong. I'm glad he wasn't let go. Sucks to say it but I can live with it.

OK, what part of "I don't root for my team to lose." do you not understand?

It's not about wanting to make the playoffs. It's about each game coming to play and rooting for your team to win THAT game.

I hear ya, but not at the expense of cheering for my team to lose.

Homie don't play that way.
I want winners man.

I'll never hope for a loss. And by no means is losing out our best case scenario.
