Considering that Heitmann played both the Center position(I still believe he was mediocre at best there) and RG, he could have helped both Baas and Davis. Whereas Baas really could not help Davis and isn't solid as a Gaurd but he is at Center. He Pulls very well and our Line has gotten more depth on Run plays with him there than they have in years with Heitmann there.

I don't hate Heitmann, I just don't buy into the hype with him at Center. He is more experienced than Baas and that's where Baas is behind the curve. Having Heitmann next to him could have helped him transition smoother.

So yes him being put on IR hurt us. But not in the way that OP is commenting about.
