Actually yes, every time I see Rodgers play I tell myself he should be our QB. But this has also been discussed at great length on this site, if Aaron Rodgers comes here under NOT mentoring under Favre, NOT getting thrown to the wolves as a rookie, NOT having premier weapons around him when he takes the field as a starter, blah blah blah. Bottom line, yeah it sounds good to b***h that we should have taken Rodgers, the reality is it's likely we'd be no better off today if we did.

BS.

Rodgers is a quality QB, Smith is not. Reverse roles and Smith would still fail in GB. Rodgers might not be as good as he currently is if he came here instead, but he's still the better QB of the two and would have a better chance of success under the same circumstances as Alex Smith.

This. I don't know if it would have translated into wins but Rodgers has some moxy to him - Alex Smith never had that.

My hate for GB has declined over the years since Favre left. If you look at what they've done over the last few years, it puts into perspective how lousy the people running Good Ship Niner really are.
I get depressed when i think how we should have 7 or 8 wins. niners are a f**king joke. I live in pennsylvania so i have to deal with steelers fans all the time. thats depressing
f**k RODGERS AND PACKERS...GO NINERS!

Why not just be a Steelers fan!? You'll live a happier sports life.

If you can't beat em', join em' right?!
I'm tired of the 49ers losing to them. I know what's going to happen already. Our O-Line is going to have trouble blocking them. They'll get stuck in a lot of third and long situations. We won't be able to run the ball. On defense, we will have no pass rush. I would love to see them pummel Rodgers, but it won't happen. Our DB's will not cover well, and you'll see a lot of jumping into the stands. I am always lactose intolerant when they play Ben Gay,
Their coach was our offense coordinator also and he bail after one year. He could of been our coach, but Niners let him go. He is now in a good situation Franchise QB, talent on both sides, and he can coach them to win games. We got stuck with Nolan and Singletary as coach and haven't been to the playoffs.

WERE the problem. not the QB. Rodgers and Smith both wouldve failed here. this organization is a mess, and hasnt given a QB a chance to succeed since Jeff Garcia. getting depressed over not picking Rodgers is a waste of time. It wouldnt have mattered.

I get depressed when we play GB because we always lose, and it brings back bad playoff memories. especially the 1997 NFC Championship game in the mud and rain, when Young got knocked out and Elvis Grbac had to finish out the final game of our season.

My depression with Green Bay is Brett Favre owning us when he was there. Since he is gone the only depression is Green Bay wasn't a non contender for very long, doing a quick rebuild, our rebuild is on year 8 and counting.
So basically we are one game behind but in reality we will be 2 games behind after this week. Seattle and Rams both have favorable matchups and we play the Packers. If ever there was a time for this team to win a game against the good teams it would be now. I mean we are like 0-8 in close games against good teams in the past 2 years.

I'm not arguing Rodgers seems to have a better attitude/leadership quality to him, but as you said I'm not sure it would have translated to a better record. Like you, too, since Favre left I just don't have that hatred for the Packers - but I still hope we kill them on Sunday.

I agree!
we are going to win
Good old-fashion ass-whippin' comin' up this weekend...

If only we had've finished against Carolina...

If only Nate had've held onto that friggin' ball...

If only Alex hadn't have simply dropped that ball for the easy TD...

Sigh...we should, could be up two games on the rest of the chumps in our division...
