When the defense knows what you are going to do, you have already lost.

Holy Hell. Please Football Gods, smite Singletary with the vengeance of a Lott and Willis sandwich hit. Oh... then make the Yorks fire him. Oh... then smite the Yorks with the vengeance of every 49er fan kicking them in the nuts (especially Denise) simultaneously. Oh... then make them sell the team to Steve and Brent. Do it!
Don't make me get outta my armchair...

Oh... grade. Right.
So... F is for FAIL, right? Hmm.... I don't know if that properly conveys the ineptitude of allowing 6 sacks by a team that has had 8 sacks in 9 games.
These are my suggestions to remedy the EPIC FAIL of the offending line.

This makes me sad. It's so tough to support a JV-coached team...sigh...

The get a D+, but only because:
1) we're starting two rookies.
2) we're starting a backup LT
3) our center has only played center for 10 games in the NFL.
Basically, I don't expect a lot of them, but they even disappointed on my low expectations.

The O-line played poorly, that's clear as day. They gave up pressure and gave Gore no room to run at all.
However, AT LEAST 2 of the "sacks" aren't on the O-line at all; when Troy Smith bootlegs out of the pocket (whether designed or not) and holds onto the ball while running to the sideline and is tackled before he gets to the line of scrimmage... those are counted as sacks, even though there's nothing the O-line can do in those situations. When the QB leaves the pocket, its on HIM to either make a play or get rid of the ball.
I didn't think to count how often it happened during the game, but it happened at least twice. That brings down the # of sacks the O-line is culpable for to 4, at most. Still bad, but let's put blame where it belongs.

The damn bootlegs probably weren't designed to be bootlegs what happened was... Troy seen blitz and knew that the damn o line was going to let this 6'4" 7000lb guy stomp my face in so ima get the (bleep) out of here so i don't get my (expletive) kicked. This team obviously designed their D to rush on almost every play. Bring one of the safeties up leave man coverage and stop the run. Blitz blitz blitz blitz and then no blitz but the damn o line get ran over. By the end of the half Troy Smith was probably seeing cartoon characters running routes. REDICULOUS!

That is unbelievable. At this point in the season, at this point in Singletary's tenure, at this point in the rebuilding process, that beggars belief.

Abysmal play. Couldn't run agaist a team supposedly vulnerable to it. Couldn't protect the QB, AT ALL! Let the Bucs almost double their season total in sacks in just one game. And they would have too, if Smith wasn't so mobile. Smith didn't play well, but it's hard to when you're running for your life.
Sims showed his rust after being inactive the entire season. Davis continues to be a liability and illustrated, once again, that he's simply not ready to anchor that left side. I may be wrong, but even Wragge has played better, when in, than some of our starters. Like our DB's, defensive line, coaching and ownership, the O-line needs revamping. No way around it. And I thought Scolari was supposed to be an o-line genius. What's up with that? Just a disgusting effort!

the oline is garbage. the oline has been garbage for years. that's one thing that hasn't changed at all over the years. maybe we shoulda got 1 oline player that's ready to play this year instead of 2 rookies. i don't know im disgusted by this team.

A big fat F for "Eff". Hot Garbage. But I think a lot of it is scheming and technique which falls on the coaching. I mean really what makes anyone think that a coach who doesn't even know how to evaluate his players and their abities i.e. spread QB playing a power running game what makes anyone think that he would be competent at evaluating coaching talent. Ppl, it's one big giant mongoflop.

I would vote for worse if there were another choice.
Giving up 6 sacks yesterday to a team that had a total of 8 coming into the game is unforgivable.
