Warner on T. Smith...Pocket passer?

Can't vote, not enough evidence yet. Post this in a few weeks, then we will have enough evidence I think to make this accurate...
What experts don't get is that because of the s**tty type of conservative game-calling Singletary asks for, we bury ourselves into those situations in the 4th were Troy has to make NOTHING BUT BIG PLAYS (literally putting it all on his shoulders) to stay in the game! (Where 3rd down conversions haven't been a luxury because of the poor strategy/o-line execution.)

the more he stays in the pocket, the more batted balls we will see.

Another post about his height. Brees, Vick and Rodgers aren't exactly tall guys either.
He may only be 6' but I don't think Steve Young was 6'4" and I don't think Drew Brees is more than 6'. Just because he is shorter doesn't mean he can't do well. M. Vick is about 6' also. Personally, these guys are typically more mobile and athletic than the guys that are 6'4" or taller.

Brees does get a lot of balls batted down. Smith has at least two batted down last Sunday.
Rewacht the TD pass to crabtree, and then tell me he cannot stand in the pocket warner.
Hmmm..... Let's see

Our recievers take forever to get open

Our Oline sucks

Few plays are designed for a quick release

I would say Smith does stay in the pocket when he can, sometimes too long. In fact, my issue has been that he doesn't run enough (Then of course he proves me wrong with a 30 yard bomb to a WR/TE)
What are we going to do when Alex Smith signs with the Turdinals and he proceeds to ass rape us for the next 8 years.

Get off of hallicagenics (sp) because that would not be real.
I dunno, to me it looked like when he had the protection to stay in the pocket his passes were right on the money.

He has a pretty pocket presence, he get less balls batted down than perfect sized Alex Smith. Warner said that he himself is barely 6'2". I looked up a few QBs playing right now: Steve Young, Mark Sanchez, Stafford, Brees, are all 6'2 and under. Its not really the size but the finding of throwing lanes thats important, sure he'll get some balls batted down but long as he can make consistent plays it should be fine.

Has anyone noticed that troy has a very quick drop back, maybe because of his size he learned to drop back very fast so he can see the development of routes before the pocket starts to collapse around him.
