Nate Davis, David Carr and Alex Smith

With all the injured QB's in the league this season, especially in light of what happened to Maimi this week end, the trade value of Alex Smith and David Carr are at all time highs! We should dump them both and bring up Nate before he gets snagged of the PS. The we ca resign that UDFA QB we had in camp to our PS, finnish the season with T, Smith, Davis and some UDFA as emergency QB, and have a few extra draft picks for next season, I know Alex is in his last year, but I think he will resign ANYwhere because at this point any job is better than none.

Why?

Redrathman and Valrod are right. The trading deadline has passed. But if it hadn't -- we'd be foolish for not shopping Smith. The time is right to get something for him. His value right now -- in light of the injuries that took place yesterday -- is probably higher than it's ever going to be.

But I still don't understand Boast -- why you would keep him as the #2. If you're thinking about how horrible Carr is -- yes -- I would have to agree with you. But Nate Davis would make a far better backup than Alex. We all know what we're getting with Alex. It's as plain as the writing in this thread.

In a perfect world? With no trade deadlines? -- I say we shop Alex and get what we can for him -- elevate Davis off the practice squad and push Carr down to "in case of emergency, break glass" option.

Nate Davis isn't ready to play, if he were, someone would have snapped him up when he was free. He is overhyped here.
