Just saw a recent article in Bleacher Report that made some sense. Dump the worthless Carr and promote Davis to 3rd string before someone snatches him from the practice squad. Never made any sense to dump Hill in favor of Carr anyway. Another bonehead Sing move. Still scratching my head over that one!
Trouble is, if Sing, by some miracle, decides to give Nate a shot, it's like admitting he's a foot out the door. There must be something seriously deficient in Nate, if even at this point, they feel Carr is still a better option. With Sing and his prejudices once a player gets on his $h!t list, you never know.

figure this thread would start eventually! Legitmate discussion though.

I do not believe Alex needs to step back into the starting role. It would most likely happen, since Sing is still trying to save face. I would say give Nate the reps and see if he is for real.

I would also suggest giving Troy at least one more game. With his 3 career starts so far, it is likely he will at least play average.

If that happens, well then f**k it, and put in Nate Davis. I just want to see if he's worth bringing back for the next regime.

When Singletary said "If Alex Smith is healthy, he's our QB" he was giving himself an out by being able to go back to him if Troy fails. But if Troy wins 2 in row, he will most likely retain the starting position for the remainder of the season, and be the de-facto starter for the 2011 campaign.

In the event that the Rams win on sunday, Alex will have one more shot to finish out the season with 7 straight victories and a playoff berth. Unless he pulls the impossible, he's gone.

If he doesn't, we probably promote Nate Davis and say F**K IT to the season and air it out.
