I don't think you can make them practice in the bye week, there is probably something in the rules.
They should have practiced... but with this coaching staff, what did you expect?

Also, this team needed a break from everything that had been going on. The win in London followed by the bye was a perfect opportunity for the team to relax and re-group.

They don't need more practice. They just need to relax and play football like they all know how.

Positive.

The Rams practiced one day last week
I don't think Troy Smith had the week off. At least that's what I hope.

They needed a week off.

Too many big time zone changes in such a short period.

No link... and I'm not going to look for one, but I'm pretty sure Singletary admitted to working the team too hard before the KC game. Not that it's any excuse for that performance, obviously there were other issues. Still, I think he learned a lesson as a coach there.

Sometimes, the best way to improve is to rest. Even Troy should be allowed this time... cramming is not good, especially for long term learning. After the way this season started, these guys need some time to get their heads on straight.

Now they need to work their asses off to prepare for the Rams. They'll be rested, so stamina will be better in practice, which means excitement level will be easier to maintain. If they can get excited a pumped up in practice, it'll carry over into the game. Plus, you retain information and focus better when you are mentally engaged... if they are able to have fun in practice, they will learn better.

I type too much.
I think it's actually better to go home and get your mind off football. Don't think because they didn't practice last week that the team was not game planning ( I know don't laugh) Seriously they get the game plan together and that's what gives the team 2 weeks to prepare, not necessarily practice.

The coaches were faxing Troy Smith the game plan to his home in Cleveland all week.

Easy to figure out. The official announcement will be tomorrow according to the media
The whole reason for a bye week is exactly what it is, a week off
