Yes I agree, give me more pampered man child! Troy Smith was TOO inspirational, it seemed like the other players would follow him to war, give me Alex a guy nobody would follow into a strip club!

I am happy with the win, but everybody is kissing T Smith's a**, like he won the SB. There is no need to name a started going into the bye week. Singletary again does a shi**y impression of a football coach.
The play calling was consistently awful and we got some good breaks due to the crappy defense we were facing.

Troy Smith 105 passer rating, Alex has done that twice in his 50+ starts.

I say start Troy Smith and make sure he learns more pass plays during the bye week and please give either qb something other than handing off to Gore . Troy needs to be reminded not to throw the ball up but then he has some playmaker in him I think if he learns more of the playbook he will be more effective. I say start Troy Smith and give him a legitimate chance to win the job outright.

I do think Troy showed enough to get another chance, and the bye is the perfect time for him to get more practice. Hope we see Troy given more command against the Rams to get an idea of how good he is/can be.

I think Niner Talk has been riding his nuts way too much, but I hope he gets another start or two. And I agree, the injury is the perfect excuse to do this; if Troy fails, then a healthy Alex can step back in with no drama.

Just watched a replay of Maiocco and Bach (post-game) on CSN at Wembley, Matt thinks it's a no-brainer that Troy Smith finishes the season (and that there's no turning back for Alex Smith).

-Matt even said himself (in all his years covering the 49ers) Troy Smith showed more "it" factor in one game with 'training-wheels' than Alex ever has in his entire career.

Troy Smith SHOULD get the start against the Rams after the bye, he at least earned that, He will have 2 weeks to prepare so lets see what this kid can do being fully prepared

I love his arm, he throws the ball with some nice zip on it.

The best pass from yesterday was the Crabtree TD. he gunned it in there and it had nice touch on the ball he placed it perfectly. It was a thing of beauty

His ability to scramble and keep plays alive is very good, the Oline better get use to that and realize they have to hold their blocks a little bit longer

It's a double edged sword. I want Troy to succeed so that we can at least have a good backup guy next year at QB. For Troy to succeed, the Niners will have to win. For the Niners to win, Sing will have to look good.

If Sing looks good, Jed might give him another shot next year, and thats a no-no.

The second half of this season is going to be full of drama, but I prefer this over the "whether or not Alex is the future" bs we've been going through the past 6 years......
