i dont understand why ALOT of you guys are mad that Troy is starting, most of you guys wanting Nate to start? forealz? why because he has a canon arm...yes thats good but HE DOESN'T KNOW THE PLAYBOOK WELL ENOUGH TO PLAY!!!!, why not start Troy? im pretty sure alot of you including my self never seen him play in the NFL except youtube videos, you cant really judge a player you havent seen play a full game in the NFL. WE ALL dont know what he got until we see him play. CHANCES PEOPLE CHANCES!
Your argument applies to both Troy and Nate whether you realize it or not. I'm happy that Carr is not starting and Troy is. I hope he lights it up Sunday (or at least plays well enough to keep him in the next week). More importantly, gets a W.
FWIW, none of us can possibly know how much Nate understands or doesn't understand about the playbook. Why do so many peeps on this board say it like it's a fact...

i understand your point and your right none of us can possibly know what nate got.. but the coaches said it them self that during the off season NATE didnt work out as hard as he's supposed to and didnt go through the playbook as much as he's supposed to and it showed during the preseason and that came out of nate davis's mouth also... of course he deserves a chance IF Troy dont do well this week ...never know they might put nate in there..we gotta wait until next year to see Nate, thats if he works hard and learn from his mistakes this season
Well, I only heard/read that from Singletary. Frankly, I'm not sure I would put that much weight on that statement at this point. I really wanted Singletary to succeed and was very supportive of his hiring at the time. After what I've seen of him this year with his handling of Alex (keeping him in at all costs), coaching, personnel moves etc... I'm not really listening to him as much any more. In other words, I'm not convinced Nate didn't work that hard.
I will get back to you after I study the film though.
