One of the beat writers, I think Barrows, mentioned Manusky as an interim HC.
It will be Manusky if the plug is pulled on Sing

Whatever you think of Peter King, he mentioned a couple weeks ago that the 49ers front office did not believe either coordinator was a suitable interim HC.

They also thought the 49ers were leaning towards hiring Hoener or Sully as OC when Turner left for SD and it ended up being Hos. I could see Sully as a potential candidate here as well considering his NFL experience.

I hope it's not Manusky. If he's promoted to take over the season, it's likely that he will not be retained next year as the DC.

There is zero point to firing Singletary right now. It does us no good to replace him as head coach. Let him finish out the season, fire him, and find a coach that knows how to game plan.

The players have obviously quit and have absolutely no trust or belief in his philosophy. They may respect him as a man, but as coach absolutely NOT. The York's, as they always do, will find a escape goat and fire him. He doesn't bring anything to the table. So why keep a dead horse?
I'd vote for Tomsula. He's actually been a HC before, even though it was only NFL Europe. Still, that's more HC experience than anyone else on the staff. And I think he was pretty successful in NFLE.
John York: 49ers committed to Singletary through season

http://blogs.sacbee.com/49ers/archives/2010/10/john-york-49ers.html

Quote:
I asked York if Singletary would be the coach through the season. "Yes, he's our coach," he quickly replied. A Comcast Sports report earlier this week cited a source who said that there were grumbles from York and son Jed over Singletary following Sunday's 23-20 loss to Carolina. "I'm not sure why somebody would have said that," John York said. "We were grumbling because we lost the game. I think we grumble any time we lose a game." Like Singletary, York insisted that the 49ers would snap out of their funk if they managed to stop making mistakes and turning the ball over. "It didn't help for us to have Alex injured," he said. "But we'll deal with that separately.
Just leave Singletary in, it's probably his last season as a HC for awhile so let him at least finish it out. He may not be a tactical genius but he's not Mike Nolan, he deserves to go out at the end of the season, just like any other coach who gets fired.
