This poll should probably wait until later in the week when emotions have cooled a bit, but which of these options comes closer to your opinion?

OPINION A: We have a young, talented team that just needs a few changes. Obviously, coaching and QB are just two of those changes, but if we're able to find answers for those questions in the off-season, we'll be back on the right track soon.

OPINION B: We have a few standout players, but the rest of the team is mediocre at best and many wouldn't be starters on other teams. We need to blow up the team, fire everyone at the front office, trade away star players and overpaid veterans, and completely rebuild with draft picks and free agency.

Obviously there is room for a middle ground, but I'm interested whether people generally lean towards the former or latter.

I personally believe Opinion A. Singletary just doesn't have what it takes to be an NFL Coach; Alex Smith (and David Carr) are not the answer at QB; and our secondary is laughably weak. However, we can get a new coach in the offseason and draft a QB with our top pick. They'll be stepping behind a strong, young line playing in their second year together, with a Pro Bowl RB and a talented backup (Dixon), a good possession WR in Crabtree and a great blocker and deep threat in Davis, and serviceable WRs rounding out the roster. Where Singletary can't make adjustments and Smith doesn't have the talent to overcome mistakes, a new regime could easily make this team work.

On defense, our front seven are consistently very good. Clements and Spencer are below average, and Goldson and Mays are works in progress. After drafting a QB, a cornerback could improve the secondary.

I think we're a few key parts away from a solid playoff bound team. Unfortunately those key parts are the most important parts of a team, but fixing those problems doesn't have to be a multi-year process.
