Probably would've been smarter to resign him before Heitmann got injured

Sorry to hear that about Heitmann, I'd rather see him retire if this injury could carry on and get worse, He seems the type who will turn into a very good OL coach

as far as Baas goes, I think he's doing a nice job, and I suggest the Niners try to lock him up as soon as possible

Along with your description of Smith's value on the open market, another excellent, very useful post.

I suppose this begs the question, can Rachal play center?

I can see all the venom directed at Sing now.

Let's just call it what it REALLY is. Heitmann sees he ain't gettin his job back and is using this as an excuse to not take a demotion.

Cause if his neck was TRULY the issue he's had PLENTY of time to take care of it. His leg is now healed but his neck isn't?

I smell a rat and it's not the one that leaked information to the Press.

Heitmann is just biding his time for whatever reason only he knows.

We need him as a RG and the guy isn't even "healthy". Who's fault is this? TC was over at least 8 weeks ago. Yet his neck is the problem.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight gotcha.

I really hope u are joking, cause Heitmann has been a soldier for us. If it wasnt serious he would be out there. I would rather have Heitmann than Baas, but if it must be baas, then when healthy put heitmann at RG where he would be much better than Chilo Bust Rachal.

Right, he's biding his time with a *neck* injury. That's like a running back biding his time with a knee injury.

Edit: "Heitmann is just biding his time for whatever reason only he knows." I'd be interested to learn more about this.

I find it very odd that the neck injury was never reported and now 8 weeks later he is just now getting it checked? Yet last week he suited up and was available. Was it not hurting last week? Did he hurt it sitting on the bench? If it was so bad he isn't going to be ready for a least a month how was it that he could don the uni and be active against the Raiders?
I could see this as being a fake injury made up by our staff. Sing values the running game more than anything, that is the real reason why Heitmann isn't going to come back. Fans and media know injecting Heitmann would improve the pass protection, but Sing simply doesn't value it, so I could see him coming up with this injury to silence his critics.

Man a guy cannot be even a little bit of a smartass around here without people gettin up in his grill.

This is EXACTLY my point. He's being a more positive version of Mike Lewis imho. Soldier or no, how is it he's got full momentum in his neck every game he's not suited up(clearly shows on every DVR in the zone if nobody believes me) and yet his leg is mended but the "stinger" is a nagging neck injury 8 weeks later?

If the guy is truly injured my bad, but I've seen him moving pretty spryly on the sidelines and speaking from experience if you have a neck injury you are not that mobile. I have a hard time sitting in front of my monitor for long periods of time. How is it this guy did not get it looked at while he's been rehabbing?

Again it is just a bit suspect.

I just think he's being a tad bit classier than Mike Lewis with the timing of this "injury".

And if you do not believe me then I would remind you that Mike Golic admitted a few years ago on his radio show, that he over-exaggerated an injury to go on IR for the benefit of his team. Don't think this is not crossing my mind as well.

Don't think I don't agree with the need for Heitmann. I just think he knows he lost his job.

Am I over exaggerating the issue? Maybe. But look what happened when Mike Lewis thought he lost his job. Dude just quit on us like a little bish.

So I hope you can see how I'm a bit perplexed as to how an unreported injury becomes a headline for a guy who is coming back from an injury that typically takes longer to rehab and still has the unreported injury. If it's a bulging disc, hey I get that. But then why was he moving up and down the sidelines fully ambulatory and why wasn't that injury reported by the Matts' before now?

you guys are too much

hurt his neck in pre season thought it was a minor injury
breaks his leg
out of practice
while not practicing his neck doesn't bother him to the point of concern
leg heals
back to practice and neck starts hurting again
checked out found to be something more

is this really that hard to believe
